Rudy's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

Nice and chill little spot!!! Let's start with the food..

*Breaded garlic butter wings-very good... loved them. They were cooked too perfection. *Mild wings- the best I've had in a LOOONG time. They were the bomb and were also cooked to perfection. *Honey bbq wings- nope not for me. Cooked well, but the sauce was too thick and too sweet for me. I sent them back and ordered more mild (which were even good the next day) *Chicken quesadilla- they were good. My only critic is to double the toppings and chop the chicken up bc the pieces were easy too thick. *Fried mushrooms- Amazing. The sauce that it came with was just ok. *Sweet potato fries- didn't like it... they had sugar on it, like who does that. I sent them back, reordered and sprinkled with a little salt and it was good. They could've fried them a little longer to make them crisper though. Some were mushy. *tater tots- fried to perfection per my friend

The restaurant was clean, but the toilet in bathroom didn't work.

One thing that is needed based on my experience is an actual waiter/waitress for the bar area. I was sitting at a table and had to go to the bar to order food and pick up my food. The bar tender had to put in the orders, the waiter brought it and sat it in the bar and I had to rush over to get it bc there were so many people in that area breathing over the food. Either people shouldn't be allowed in that area at the end of the bar or they should bring the food to the table or person. Ultimately, I think it'll be best if they had someone working the tables.

The music was good, the bartender and barback were really nice.

Good food, good music, good workers and a good time... I'll definitely be driving from Tampa to...

It's okay. Friendly service. They have a lot of TV's to watch various sports, however, they can't be bothered to keep them from going inactive. Was watching the Bucs game and the idle power saver message came on the TV's at the 2 minute warning. We informed the bartender, who shrugged, continued pouring a water, and didn't even say anything. 20 seconds later, we told her again, hey...the game is about to shut off, to which she replied, "I can't do anything about it, I don't have the remote."

Now, I understand that she may not have been able to do anything in that moment, but I sort of feel like it would be her job to find the person who can do something about it, not just let the TV's go off for arguably the most exciting 2 minutes of the game. She acted as if we told the wrong person about the TV...I don't go there enough to know "the right person" but don't feel like it should have mattered...a sports bar should keep the sports on.

Edit*. Thank you for the quick response and addressing the issue. We did appreciate that you guys had the game, as other places did not because, as you said, it wasn't being carried by other outlets, so awesome job making sure you guys had it playing. Just unfortunate the way it ended. All in the past now. I'm sure we'll check out the place again, as there did look like a lot of fun things to do and other than the aforementioned bartender, the servers were friendly and attentive. We were just interested in the game last night is all, but we try not to let one bad experience ruin an otherwise fun...

This was our first time at Rudy's but it won't be our last. The burger pictured was a monster burger and it was delicious! We also had the fish nuggets, which were fresh fish and tasty even without the sauce. We ordered the chili cheese nachos, expecting a small basket of nachos. We received a huge platter smothered in chili and cheese, along with tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. I ended up eating this as my meal because it was so big. These are the kind of nachos I would make at home, except I would dice the onions, instead of the rough chop at Rudy's. I was surprised at how good the nachos were. The bar itself is big, with basketball games, skeeball, pool tables, and table electronic games. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it is a smoking allowed bar. It wasn't smoky inside, but you could smell it for a good 5 minutes before you got used to it. If it had been smoky, I would have left. We will go back to check out the skeeball and basketball. We played the table electronic game at the bar and it was fun. It had a few retro games on it that reminded us of those old games they had at Buffalo Wild Wings before they switched to the small portable game stations. All in all, it was...
