I honestly wish I could give this a better review. The atmosphere is pretty good, the service was pretty good, but the food was pretty sad, and insulting for the price. I had pabellon, my date got empanadas. There was nobody else in the store when we got there, and nobody came by the time we left. Not a great sign to begin with.
My pabellon was okay at best, but the fried plantains were overly saturated in a low quality oil, the rice was just barely cooked, and the avocado slice was on the overripened side. The black beans were fantastic, but the stewed meat was just okay, nothing remotely stood out about it.
My dates empanadas were a disaster. They came in an assorted three flavors, all of which were cold throughout the insides, while the outsides were blazing hot. It was an experience that is pretty unique to microwaved frozen foods. When we asked if lady at the counter could have the chef heat it up for us, she popped them into a microwave. You can buy better empanadas at the Winn Dixie next door, and cook them yourself. I can't stress that enough, honestly.
They did have a neat little bakery, which is why I gave it a third star, but it definitely does not make up for the sad empanadas and...
Read moreUpdate!!! As you can see from the owners response just unprofessional. Like I said before my food was far from fresh. You should provide the same service to ALL your customers not just your true customers as you say. Yes I posted this same review on yelp. I’ve been using google more so of course I will copy and paste the same review from MY account as everyone else does to give my review and to save people time and money. I wish I read the google reviews before coming here. Seems like most of the good reviews are from family and friends 🤷🏾♀️
I ate from here awhile ago and ordered the chicken soup and the pastellito. The rice inside of the pastellito smelled and tasted 2 days old!!! So disgusting. Not only was the food horrible , the service was too. The lady who helped me was extremely snobby and just plain rude however, she was very nice with the other customers who came in speaking her language. Never again. I basically spent $12 on soup to eat. The soup was okay. My brother recommend I go to tampa for some good, fresh and authentic Venezuelan food i should have listened waste of time and money I know better next time I'm...
Read moreI've been to Alma Llanera a couple times now and can safely say that overall I've had a great experience. Im from Venezuela and obviously because of this I had to try their "Venezuelan" food. As soon as I tried it, I was very happy to report that their food reminded me of home. I would 100% recommend going here. I have had an instance where the waiter forgot parts of my order but was very apologetic and fixed it immediately causing me little to none of a disruption. The one this I can say that is not great about this place are the prices. If it's your first time then I would say just go for it but after a while your paying a lot of money for medium sized portions of food. I would definetly appreciate it if they lowered their prices but like I said, overall...
