The customer service is great. I docked them two stars for the following:
The clothes are overpriced for used clothing. I understand they need to make a profit, so I kind of understand why. But I had to take a star off because the clothes *are used, and some items are near store prices.
Secondly, I brought in about a dozen pair of new-never worn-still in box (some designer label, in designer label box) shoes. (There were 2 pair that weren’t in a box.) I got $80 (in-store credit) for all the shoes, except for one pair they gave back to me.
My removal of the additional star was due to the randomness of the goods they selected, versus the goods they gave back. For example the two pair that weren’t in boxes, and that came from Payless, had visible usage on the outter soles, -were accepted. However, the Baby Phat shoes that had a minor flaw in the stiletto part of one heal, and came in the original BP box, was not selected. I had a pair of Christian Siriano pumps, never worn, in designer box, that were accepted, but the box was given back to me. But non name-brand boxes for other shoes were kept. Random. lol
I figured that I got $5-$10 per pairs of shoes. Which is crazy for shoes that literally were never worn. But once again, I understand they have to make a profit.
Overall, its not a place Id shop at, but that Id fully support. If that makes sense. Im glad they are serving a population of women that often get overlooked when it comes to fashion. I wish them...
Read moreOk, first and foremost this review is for the company not the sweet young girl who was at the counter. Last week I was down in St Petersburg, I'm not usually down in St Petersburg. I had an account with a store that they had in Clearwater I had somewheres around $85 in store credits. It's been a crazy busy year for me and I never got over there to spend my credits and when I did there was a sign on the Clearwater door saying they closed the shop and I can get my credits in the St Petersburg store. Well apparently my credits expired and all they could offer me was $5 off if I spent $20. I find this disheartening in this day and age. People are struggling and probably shopping more and more at thrift stores. Well, I will be removing this thrift store from my list of places to go or donate to. To the young girl behind the counter, I know you did all you could do making phone calls to see if you could get my credit back and I really appreciate that, I know that someone higher up than you made the decision to not honor it and you were just relaying the message. You did a fantastic job and thank you for that. UPDATE: regarding your reply I do not go to St Petersburg very often and my credit had expired only 30 days prior at least that's what your sales associate told me, not 2 months. I think there could have been an exception, but it is what it is. Also, my name is...
Read moreGreat shopping experience! The quality, selection and pricing are outstanding. The staff is super friendly and helpful -- it's like shopping with your best girlfriends. The owner of this store is also the owner of the wildly popular Tampa Bay area children's resale boutiques, Stellies Bellies. Just like the children's boutiques, this is a resale store -- bring in your clothing and you will be given credit towards purchases in the store. The staff does a great job of making sure the clothes they take in are in fantastic condition and very stylish. I was very pleased with the credit I received for the items I brought in -- and I found a super cute vintage style dress that was so affordable I was able to save half the credit they gave me for my visit. Prices of clothing in the store are very, very reasonable - a bit higher than a thrift store but the quality, condition of the clothes, merchandising, service and styles are super nice. CURV accepts shoes size 8 and over, in-season clothing, work out wear, lingerie, scrubs and even jewelry. I saw sizes in the store that ranged from a 12/L to 34/5x. Selection in sizes 4x and 5x are smaller but I am sure the selection will build up -- the store has only been open a few weeks. To sum up, CURV EXCHANGE is a plus size shopping dream come true -- I wish them all the success...
