Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Pineville

My husband and I went in tonight around 7. We were seated in the barrel. At first the hostess had to start our order off. She was very nice. Then came WHITNEY, the bartender and our waitress. She was short with us. We ordered appetizers. 20 minutes later, Whitney comes to tell us our appetizers will be ready soon. Over the course of an hour and a half, she stopped by our table TWICE, only asking if we wanted a refill ONCE. She stopped by our table once at the beginning, once to bring us our meal, and once at the end of the meal. She threw the boxes for our remaining food from our dinner on the table. She didn't have the courtesy to ask how everything was or hand the take out containers to us. She was extremely bossy and ordering the other waitresses to do things for her, for them to basically do her job for her. At the end of dinner, I asked to know what the desserts were. I decided on the blondie. TWICE I told her I would like for it to go. She repeated to go? And I said yes please, to go. 10 minutes pass by and a different waitress brings it out on a skillet. I told her I had ordered it to go, so this waitress started heading to the kitchen area to box it up and Whitney rudely said in a sarcastic tone, uh, it goes over to them (pointing to us). Since Whitney didn't bother to do it herself, I said to her that I had asked her to box it up and she told me I hadn't. I said I had asked twice. She said, oh, well I didn't hear you. My husband and I both knew she had. At this point, she turned to 2 male customers at the bar and started talking about me and complaining about me. She kept giving me a dirty look while working at the bar. It took 20 minutes AT LEAST to get our check. We couldn't get the attention of Whitney because not only did she not really walk by our table, but she didn't look at us. I am permanently disabled, so getting up and continuing to try to walk to her was not an option for me. She could definitely use a refresher on...

Absolutely horrible customer service when u walk in u see 2 people at the bar and 1 waitress no one and I mean no one greets you at all the stare and continue what they are doing so I sat myself. It’s about 4pm there are only 6 people in the restaurant so it’s not like ur extremely busy. I asked to speak with manager because I’m here to pick up an item that I was told to come and get and the one waitress or whatever she is was very nasty and rude. Caucasian woman with long straight dark brown hair on a ponytail. Nasty attitude she said the manager is on the line cooking because they have no cook so it’s going to be awhile. Instead of her asking what the issue was or if she could at least find out what I needed she proceeded to be nasty and rude repeating herself about the status of the manager. Again 6 people but yet the manager can’t take 3 to 5 minutes just to come out or give the item to one of the other people. So I sat and waited 30 minutes and she still did not come out or did anyone come over and talk to me. Didn’t offer me a water nothing and you wonder why I would never come here again. And you wonder why this location is failing. Whoever is over this location really needs to revamp the team seriously because the people you have in place are not cutting it. Business can’t be well and will continue to fail with this type of behavior. While I was there 2 people walked in again not greeted or anything she had to walk up to someone to ask to be seated and they told her to wait as if they were busy. Guess what it took them about 10 minutes to be seated and once seated no one came over to talk to them so that couple got up and left as they should have. We went here for our monthly date night because my partner is obsessed with their blondie and our first real date was at an applebees. We were surprised when we saw the parking lot almost empty but went in. While our toddler had a blast, we did not. Our waiter was great and professional but the food was horrible. They were out of bacon and artichoke dip, both things we wanted, and no bacon meant my partner couldn't try the new burger they advertised, another reason we chose to go here. Not the worst thing but in hindsight was a sign of things to come. The appetizer, since we wanted the combo which included things that they were out of, we opted for just boneless chicken wings, which cost about $13 or so, and consisted of a handful of tiny chicken nuggets, we were not offered anything to make up for the fact that half the stuff we wanted they were out of. Food: my steak (that I requested as "medium rare, on the more rare side") was 10 seconds away from completely well done, my mash was grainy, lumpy, and watery all at once and every piece of my broccoli had brown color on every stem. My partner's shrimp, 1 had it's poop vein, his mash was the same and both of us felt turned off at this point. We didn't eat our entrees. He had to have his blondie, which was good EXCEPT they for some reason heated the sauce that comes with it (boiling) which meant it was broken :'( We tried to leave a review with the qr they provide on the receipt but it keeps saying invalid code (using the one they provided) so here is where we are reviewing.
