Although the atmosphere was pleasant, I ordered the unbreaded chicken wings. The Chicken Wings itself, tasted old, not fresh even before the cooking process covered with seasoning. The steamed rice wasn't fresh "crusted edges and tasted very dry", some of my shrimp wasn't cleaned properly (having to search through what was cleaned properly) "which really upset me" but I held my compliants with the exception of the corn" and my corn wasn't steamed properly through, leaving it tasting starchy, not the taste of a bursting properly steamed juicy corn. The wet wipes on the individual tables needs to be checked and rotated because I found some of them dried out when opening them. I'm giving my honest opinions because I'm a Chef, myself and I don't eat out much at all. However, simple things like this can be fixed. Furthermore, I did taste my son fried/breaded shrimp and it had no flavor or little to non seasonings. However, they can add fresh lemon slices to compensate for the seasoning. I think if, I was to return, I will be more specific in what I want them to bring to my table base on how I want my food seasoned. Especially, ordering main meals, appetizers, side dishes, Because if you don't tell them, "how will they know" But!!!! This is a Seafood Restaurant and You go in thinking that you are going to get the Best flavors and Seasonings that Eating Seafood has to offer. Now, on the other side of things, My husband loved the Black Mussels, Crawfish because they were plumped not dried out and tasty to him and he knows this type of seafood but he hasn't had the best seafood in Charlotte yet, this was one stop, so you didn't please me but he was ok with it, but I'm a Professional Chef. I know that I can find him a Superb Seafood Restaurant that would make him forget about this establishment. I'm simply trying to do less cooking outside my daily job and find a Seafood comfort that pleases both of us. And Shake Shake Seafood Didn't Do That For Me. But Good Luck, Hopefully there will be some changes and we will visit in the future to see what has changed. And if you are reading this review, make sure your waiter, waitress are wearing a mask and gloves when serving your food, and what the back of the house is wearing in your protection, We are eating out in the Midst of a Pandemic and every Restaurant needs to have your safety and the safety of their employees safe to ensure a healthy environment to us all. The simple decorations make you wonder why this could be upscale restaurant is trying to be a simple low key seafood restaurant. The bar sitting in the middle looks out of place. We ofcourse, went for the calamari and wings. I spotted on the menu po'boys. Shrimp, chicken, catfish, and oysters, oh I was excited. So our app came in record time served with a clear plastic cup of sweet Thai chili sauce. The small paper container left very little for 2 to share. The calamari was overly salted but otherwise tasty. Just before our main entree came out a tin Coors light bucket filled with paper plates, plastic forks, and plastic food gloves was placed on our table. Hubby ordered sweet Thai chili wings and a side order of fries. I received my order of a catfish po'boy that comes with fries though the menu doesn't mention this. The wings- crispy fried perfectly then tossed in the sauce we are so fond of. The 10 wings were of decent sized and sufficient to the price. The po'boy- came open faced and oddly enough unable to close it. The thin layer of mayo with an extra helping of lettuce, 2 tomatoes, and 7 pickles left this sandwich very dry. The 3 pieces of catfish was fried but the fish was not completely cooked. The baked beans were worse than canned beans. I wasn't able to eat the sandwich there so taking it home I recooked the fish. The fries were tasteless. Serving catfish undercooked is not good. Pricing: with tip $50. Way too much for what we had. Overall, this once Asian restaurant now turned seafood seems to be an attempt simply from closing the doors for good. The 2 servers were busy with 7 tables they actually had. Going back would not be an option. It's painful to see such a nice interior trying to be cheaply turned into a paper basket and paper plate bearing restaurant. I hope to see improvement esthetically and with the food should we ever be so inclined to go back. The manager is RUDE and should not be in management the way I was yelled at and talked to tonight. Ordered a seafood boil which everything was fine except the crab legs, my crab legs was very small but that wasnāt even the issue the issue was the crab legs was over cooked and none of the meat was coming out of the shell. I even broke two legs to make sure all of them was like that, I didnāt eat NO MEAT outta these crab legs. The manager comes over there and says well thereās nothing we can do they are all cooked like that and proceeds to bring out some more crab legs he broke right in front of me and guess what! The meat was coming right out the shell the ones he had , he going to say see yours do that too. I know when crab legs are overcooked I have been eating crab legs for years! So donāt play in my face like that! He is arguing with me then started yelling talking about your paying for them! your not getting anymore! You ate half of them! (Clearly didnāt eat any! I just broke them to show him the meat is not coming out!) and says you people always do this! Mind you I have never complained at the restaurant before! I feel like he was clearly being racist! and why not just give me the crab legs you clearly just wasted in front of me to prove no point!! So I just told him to bring me the check I paid for it and didnāt even finish my boil! The way he was yelling and talking to me he should not be a restaurant owner!
