SUSHI LOVERS ONLY. Hidden gem in terms of their sushi bar. Their buffet style food is your typical Chinese food at any buffet. You have your salad, raw fruits, veggies, condiments, soups, fried items, sautees, noodles, rice, an assortment of proteins, etc. In my honest opinion, I definitely do not come here for the Chinese food.
So back to that sushi bar - for a $12.99 dinner price you need to take advantage of their sushi bar. You have an assortment of sushi to choose from:
Maki: most common of what people think of sushi - rice and filling wrapped in seaweed Uramaki: a typical Maki, except rice on the outside and seaweed wraps the filling Nigiri: plain raw fish or something else, on top of sushi rice Temaki: sushi that has been hand rolled into a cone shape Sashimi: fish or shellfish with no rice
Their big hitter is the SASHIMI. I know a minimum price for many all-you-can-eat sushi places are $18+ and then your sashimi (raw fish only, no rice) will cost an extra 50 cents to a dollar per piece, but not here. They got some of that good good too if you know what I be sayin' (fresh wasabi and ginger). Their sushi pictures of abalone, giant clam, etc., are misleading because they don't have it but they do have your typical tuna, salmon, squid and red snapper, so take advantage of that ish.
So if you are a sushi lover, especially sashimi, come here and give it a try. I only come here to get a few plates of their sashimi and dragon/rainbow roll.
Another note - there's one guy behind the sushi bar that always smiles. He's great!1!
DIsclaimer: I have only been here at dinner so I'm not sure if their lunch is the same. I will post more updates/pictures accordingly if I...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero I WOULS listen, because I can’t make this up . Last night around 6:45 p.m my husband and I came in to eat ( the bathroom was already a red flag for me) but I figured it’s getting late and they just haven’t touched them up….. anyway we were sitting eating our first plate of food and my husband finished before me so he gets up to make another plate … he comes flying back to the table saying” babe the short lady who is bringing food from the window ( she was restocking the buffet) is picking her nose and eating it. I screamed NO WAY in hell could she be doing that as people are making there food. I stood up to see and immediately lost my appetite. He runs over to the front desk to show them because she was continuously picking her nose and eating it. The 2 ladies told him the manager was not there and they would say something to her but they would not leave the front desk. I myself sat and WATCHED as the young girl at the desk watched the woman doing this disgusting act and never once did anyone approach her or say anything to her in their dialect. She did this action several times repeatedly as if she were in the room alone . I would have expected this from a KID or MENTALLY challenged person. Sooo disgusting! Handling buffet utensils, carrying buffet trays and replacing items in the buffet and going back and forth from your nose to your mouth. I’m appalled. This is how COVID and other diseases spread… None of the people eating wore gloves either. Whoever the MANAGER is GO look at the video of 2-16-24 the timeframe was 6:30-7:15. She she be fired. Anyone that dissssscusting and grown should NOT be working in the...
Read moreHaving just arrived in Charlotte and staying at the Comfort Suites my family and I loved the convenience of the China Buffet across the road. Having read some pretty average revues I am never one to trust the opinion of others hence I thought we would give China Buffet a chance. Walking through the doors we were greeted by a friendly little staff member who showed us to our table. Despite the floor being covered in filth we overlooked this as it was "rush hour". Off to the food. Well, the selection was just like any other Chinese Buffet, yet most of the dishes lacked freshness and especially the craw fish which were obviously frozen and had been reheated several times. The tail meat had shrunk into a grey mess of rubber. We had several attentive waitresses who continually offered to refill my drink. Awesome I thought. Getting half way through every beverage and having it refilled was refreshing. Until I arrived at the cash register and was charged a full glass price for every top-up. STEALING from your customers is not a great idea China Buffet. Toward the end, we had had enough of the bad tasting food, overcooked and reheated. We had had enough of waitresses continually interrupting us as we try to enjoy our meal and the overall disdain these people clearly have for ethics and really caring about the customer experience is obvious. Avoid this place like the plague!!! No "HAPPY...
