The Dive N — Restaurant in Pineville

I took my 10 year old son, ten of his friends, and about 10 adults to the dive in after they had fun at a nearby bounce house for his birthday. I chose this establishment because of the excellent on line food reviews and stellar in advance, over the phone accomidations. The owner reserved the covered/ heated back porch for our party and it was perfect! A smaller party typically orders at the counter and then chooses a seat, however we were given an awesome waitress because of our large party. She took our order, my son opened presents while we waited for our food, and perfectly timed, our food came out. The american diner food was high quality- burgers, hotdogs, fries ect that kids enjoy. The prices are very reasonable. To boot both the owner and Santa came out to wish my December born son, a wonderful birthday. These folks went above and beyond. We could have chosen a fast food chain but wouldn't have had anything memorable to write about a month after and definately not for years to come. This place! I've wanted to try it for a while now, I just don't live that close. I happen to be down at the mall and thought this would be the perfect time. I am so glad that I did! Sometimes the very best places are the smallest. There's no online menu, but the ratings were good. I asked what their most popular menu item was and they proceeded to say "The Jimmy special" and I can absolutely see why! The value for the food you get is fantastic. The Burger was massive and the side was plenty. The onion rings taste like the fair smells! You can tell that they are battered fresh because they stick together and those are the best kind. Also the oil tasted extremely fresh because on both the onion rings and the fries you couldn't taste any sort of oil aftertaste, it was wonderful. I had the best experience here! I’m sort of a difficult diner - I ask a lot of questions (for example: is your ranch homemade, what’s in your chicken salad, are your onion rings good, etc etc) which usually cause an eyeroll or short answers. I was so impressed by the girls that work at the registers. They were patient and kind and even offered to let me sample the chicken salad without asking. The name on my receipt is Crystal but I interacted with most everyone due to their impressive teamwork. They truly seemed to like one another...constantly asking tables about refills and to-go materials etc. Not to mention the food was fantastic!
