Dave & Buster's Pineville — Restaurant in Pineville

Wow. Holy ear plugs, Batman! I met three friends for dinner and some play time. I asked that we be seated in an area far from the arcade floor. I was told that section was closed. Instead we were seated RIGHT NEXT TO the arcade floor. It was nearly 25 minutes until we were seated there. Meanwhile, other parties were seated in the quiet area I had requested! Once seated it was nearly ten minutes before a server came to take our drink order. Nearly 10 minutes until he returned with them! We placed our food order at that time. An agonizing 20 minutes went by. You could barely hear each other over the din of the arcade floor. Had we been seated where I requested that would not have been a problem! Other parties were getting seated in that area which was so frustrating! I asked if we could be moved there and was told no, that it was too crowded. Really?! The saga continued. The food arrived. It was vile. The pretzel sticks were greasy and underdone and doughy. The spicy queso had been spilled across two of them, soaking them further. I ordered the strawberry shortcake. It was inedible. The syrup had been poured with a heavy hand and the cake portion was just mush as a result. The cake was garnished with fresh strawberry slices. They were inedible because they weren’t even close to ripe - they were white and had a hard core that even a fork couldn’t cut through. The mint leaves were old and slimy! The waiter had said it was his favorite food and I ordered upon his glowing review of it. I tried to like it, I really did, instead I sent it back and even he was shocked by the berries and the mint. Wait - there’s more! We weren’t through with our food, made it clear that we were coming right back to the table. A busier cleared our table! The hostess seated another party at our table. We waited 30 more minutes for a table. Our replacement drinks took another ten minutes! My brave friends ordered the wings. Another twenty minutes! Our drinks needed refilling, we waited for the waiter for nearly ten more minutes. Its was all just a clusterfck!! By then my friends had finished their wings and we were ready for the check. You guessed it - another ten minutes until our server - having been flagged down - brought the check. The manager apologized for all of the problems and took 30$ off our final bill. It was too late, the damage was done. We will never go again. What should have been a pleasant dinner and arcade time turned into a debacle. It wasn’t even a busy night! It was a Wednesday. I joked that Chuck E. Cheese would’ve been better - at least you’d know the food would’ve...

I went out to eat with my family and my friends family. We decided to come to Dave and Busters that way after we'd finished eating the kids could hangout and play some games. Once we arrived, we ended up waiting at the front door to be seated anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes. We ended up having to hunt down someone that worked there and asked if we'd could be seated. We were seated by one of the wait staff whom apparently was out back smoking weed as he smelled very strongly of it. Hence us not being seated once we came in.

Once we were seated we waited another 10 minutes to place our drink order. Once we decided on what we all were going to order for our meal the waiter took it down and sent it to the kitchen. Three of meals that we ordered was their Rib and Sliders combo ( around $17 a person) The waiter returned 5 minutes later to inform us that they currently were out of ribs and we would have to choose something else.

To keep things simple we all requested that the ribs just be replaced with chicken tenders. We were then informed that this was not possible. The waiter stated that we could not substitute ribs for tenders. I stated that this wasn't a prior substitution request it was due to the establishment not having an item on the combo meal. He still said he could not do it. I requested a menu again where I saw they have a chicken tender and philly cheese steak slider combo ( around $16). I asked why again we could not have tenders since it was an option in a combo and at a lesser price. He said it was just something the business did not allow.

I debated leaving at this point, however, us having a party of 9 and had been here over 45 minutes at this point waiting ,we decided it wasn't worth the fight. We all ended up settling for meals that were really did not want. Once the food came out it was sub par just as I assumed it would be from this establishment.

This was our second visit here and it was worse than the first time. I am always about second chances because everyone has busy and rough nights. This place was empty so there is no excuse for such poor service. This D&B will not have my business again and I will be sure to share my experience with others to save them the same headaches. I go to Dave and Buster's a lot because overall, it is a great place however, games do break a lot and they are a bit delayed to keep everything in at least good enough condition to still be playable. The food is very good, however it is extremely unhealthy, so if you are on a diet I do not recommend it. If you have no food restrictions go for it, just be careful of the sodium!

Updated: I am a frequent customer and I lower the rating because the server of most of the staff is extremely poor. The game technicians and some of the servers are the only kind hearted people that help you. Everyone else is rude, either rushing you, ignoring you, or just being rude. Make sure if you go to only ask for help by the ones that actually care.

Updated as of September 6th, 2024: I am so disappointed. They changed their menu, again, I had no issues with the person at the bar that was serving, but the kitchen and new menu is horrible. I ordered a the new Chicken sandwich, the one with mango and it was just.... An extremely sad chicken sandwich. The server said that if I did not like it, I can swap it for something else, which I did... And I am so upset with the kitchen, they probably were upset at me for not liking that one menu item. I asked for an avocado club to go, and I was going to give the food to my family, this is what they gave me. Potato bun, pickles, tomato, onions, lettuce, guacamole. I did not order this at all! I appreciate the server giving a discount because the order took a long time for them to bring it out, but then they give me the wrong item that I ordered to go! So this is a photo of what I ordered (the avocado club) and the photos of the to-go box is what the kitchen gave me. It is like they did not even bother to see who ordered, what was ordered, and how to make it. I used to go and eat here weekly, I even would bring a party of 10 people or more to come and join me spending at least $100 at minimum.

I am thinking that it is time that we relocate to another place to enjoy our time at an arcade. Spare time entertainment is probably where we will be going...
