The food served here is really excellent! I have been craving some tasty Middle Eastern food, and this is just the place to get some. Decent location too. I tried their chicken shawarma arabi as well as the baklava.
The food was delicious. I haven't seen many reviews of their baklava, but decided to give it a try either way. The baklava wasn't anything special. I believe it is made in house though. Good, but could have used more syrup. And somewhat expensive, although good portion. Honestly not really sure if the baklava is worth it.
However, the chicken! The wrap! The saj! This was delicious. If you come here, you must try the Arabi (chicken Arabi or beef Arabi, either one). The saj bread it is wrapped in is perfectly crispy and incredible. The chicken is quite good as well. Nice little chunks of pickles throughout the wrap.
Outside of the wrap, you get a little container of vegetables, like thinly sliced carrots and a few pickles. You also get a ton of fries with the meal. These fries were quite tasty, surprisingly. And I'm not usually much of a fry fan. They also have this incredible garlic sauce, which is used up very quickly. It's also included inside the arabi. I would buy a bottle of that sauce if they sold it.
All in all, the food at Omar's Halal Grill is amazing. It's not too expensive and the portions are quite large. The quality is very high, and I would definitely...
Read moreI waited for 15 minutes of the cook and cashier not being able to ring up my order of loaded fries and them having to call a woman offsite to help them put it into the system. Then, their payment system failed three times before my payment went through. I saw the transaction go through on their card reader, however there seemed to be no technology to provide a receipt. The cook claimed I still hadn’t paid even though I had. I told him how I saw the transaction was approved on the card reader. He again claimed I hadn’t paid. After waiting for 15 minutes for a simple order with no substitutions or amendments and then trying to get me to pay twice for the order, I told them to cancel my order for the alleged transaction that didn’t occur. As I walked away I checked my banking app and sure enough the transaction had gone through. I filed a dispute with my bank to get my money back.
This was my first time ordering from Omar’s Halal Grill trying to save time in between classes. They weren’t apologetic nor did they try to rectify the situation or check their system in any way. I don’t appreciate the insinuation that I’m a thief, nor do I appreciate their attempt to get me to pay twice for a single order. Since the cook was convinced I was trying to steal food I’ve provided a screenshot as evidence. I will not...
Read moreI never wrote a review before but I had to write this one. I gave one star because that is the lowest, otherwise I will give no starts. This is the worst chicken Shawerma I've ever had. The workers in this place have changed. The lady who works there now wore only one glove in one hand, while touching everything in the sandwich and everything else with the other hand. She grabbed old chicken Shawerma pieces put in a box and put it in the new grilled chicken Shawerma oil (the oil that comes off the new grilled chicken), and put that in the sandwich instead of using the freshly grilled checkin. They boy touches every thing with no gloves. The sandwich taste is not good, full of oil; you can't even taste the garlic source because the chicken were sunk in the oil for a while. The sandwich is extremely oily, I couldn't finish it. You pay a decent price for the sandwich to only get a non-fresh, oily, untaseful Shawerma sandwich. What a cheep, greedy, and ignorant people are the workers/owners. Furthermore, not sure if you would get sick because of the...
