Jack's Bar — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

Races races races at its finest... I do not recommend anyone brown skin going to this bar if you're not Caucasian... I was there the other night with a few friends and the bartenders refused to serve us as we sat there for 20 minutes trying to get their attention... it wasn't even crowded... They ignored all of our attempts to get their attention 😞 and they kept going to one person in particular 💁🏽‍♀️kissing her hand and ignoring us 🤦🏽‍♀️we had to ask her to order our drinks and offer to buy her a drink just for ordering our drinks🤦🏽‍♀️ because they wouldn't take our service... (We weren't rude or loud ) Just out of town I was trying to have a drink.... I never been in a place more races... I do not recommend going there if you're not Caucasian or a biker don't go because they are really racist... they make it abundantly clear they do not want brown people there...it was a Caucasian older woman and two Caucasian men I've never been discriminated in my life like that... They should be shut down... This is so uncalled for... The city of Pittsburgh need to do something about this as a tourist I will never go back there and I do not recommend anyone else to go there... Only God knows what that disgusting racist bar put inside your drink when you're not looking... And charge you premium price for...

It is not a last pick place for me and it is not a first pick. So, goes to show it is not a bad place. Depending on the type of person you are. Maybe its just me and you would give 5 stars or even 1 star... From my experiences of many visits and at minimum 100+ hours spent here. Depending on what your looking for it you wont find much of a diverse setting. You will see diverse people there; keep in mind. IT IS NOT A DIVERSE BAR. They are open really early so if your an early drinker they are open. Times it is really laid back and sometimes it feels tense. The music gears more, country, rock, metal and oldies. Downside, the accumulation of Rap, hip hop and R&B songs getting blocked from play in the jukebox has increased to almost zero playable. Started noticing songs ive played over 5 months ago become blocked 3 months ago. I like all music so types dont matter to me. If ur audio mood goes one way thats what you have to look forward to.. Service is good. I do not feel singled out to receive services. They have food. I have never tried the food but i hear its good. Besides no food experience. I think I pretty much gave anyone curious the run around. Just walk in you...

How can this be a 5 star review?? Because Jack's is a consummate dive bar - been there for a billion years, including some of the help & patrons, and it stays true to exactly what it is - a Pittsburgh dive bar, complete with smoking (I don't smoke), iron city beer, early hours, locals, Steelers Identity, etc. They do have some basic bar food- like burgers, possibly grilled cheese, etc., and it's pretty much what you'd expect or even worse, but it's good that they have it when you're 10 iron citys in & ya absolutely have to have something/have the munchies. I consider Jack's to be a ritualistic visit when I come to Pittsburgh for a Steelers game. I almost always start there, followed by other spots on Carson Street before moving on to the other neighborhoods...
