Got into town for the game and a weekend with friends on Wednesday evening and decided to walk over from our Airbnb for a quick bite. The place is spotless and the vibe was chill with some locals hanging out. The bartender and server who were working that night were friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and had a couple of beers. Great selection of local and craft beers along with the usual staple of big boy names. The beer was cold and when the bartender stepped away for a second the server slid right on to refill our empty glasses. We started with some pizza logs and they were delicious. I grew up in NW PA and this seems to be a staple bar food and I wish this was the case in Charlotte. The mozzarella they used was phenomenal. These didn’t stand a chance. I went with the Gouda bacon burger with mac and cheese as my side. The burger was cooked to perfection and quite delicious, and the mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. Burgers are cooked to temp here which is always a plus.

I was surprised that me and my friends popped in here late night and the service was super quick and the staff was nice even for the place to be packed. The fried crab balls taste like heaven and I didn't want to share with my friends but I did. Next time I go, I'm ordering it for myself. However we sent the crab dip back because it didn't taste as good. The crab balls set the bar way too high. But the staff understood and took it off the bill. Also the stacked Mac tastes like comfort food heaven. The drink specials are cheap, the food is quality and the vibe very much gives Pittsburgh bar.

Placed an order for pick-up for dinner on a weekday. Spoke to a woman she pleasantly took my order. Came in to pick it up and after the staff was looking for the order or food for a few minutes a guy who was working the bar came back out and said ā€œwe don’t have an order for you.ā€ With the attitude as if I just didn’t order the food and came in for the hell of it. I said uhm what do you mean? He said I don’t have your order it’s not here, would you like to order it again? Also with an attitude, which was the pushing factor for this review. I proceeded to ask what the number of the location was as I checked to see if maybe the dialed the wrong location, he gave me the number I dialed it was in fact correct. He said I don’t know what to tell you as I stood there confused. And said again can I put the order in for you I said ā€œno but hold on who did I speak to that took my order because I talked to somebody at this location and they took my order and gave me a total and time and everything. The gentleman proceeded with his attitude as he told me he doesn’t know who I talked to or who I called. There was a woman standing behind the bar also listening at the register while doing something, I looked at her and said do you have any idea who I spoke with on the phone 20 minutes ago? She said ā€œ yes that was me you spoke to and I just forgot to put the order in I guess I don’t know what happenedā€ mind you it was 5 on a weekday they’re were 3 people in the place it wasn’t busy. I said how did you just sit here and listen to this situation go on and not but in and say you were the one on the phone? Im a quiet person I was calm speaking the entire time just trying to figure out what could have happened before I re considered my girlfriend and I’s dinner plans so she had 0 reason to not speak up? No apology from anyone in the place, not from the guy for talking to me like I was stupid. Had to just walk out shaking my head after that one. One of the weirdest take out situations I’ve ever experienced and because of it I’m leaving this review and just saying I do not plan to ever recommend this place which I do...

Sadly, I don't have any pictures to share or comments on the food, as it took more than 15 minutes for someone to just acknowledge my boyfriend and I sitting at the bar. Went in last week, it wasn't even the weekend! It was busy, but not so busy that the staff looked overwhelmed anywhere. We sat at the bar, after a nice couple leaving offered their seats. I had an exam the next day and had been studying like mad, so I was looking forward to something good to eat and to have a beer. Two people behind the bar walk past us and even looked in our direction in the first five minutes, but no one came over. We tried to give them more time, maybe they were too focused. After about another 5 minutes, my boyfriend tries to flag them down. This place was not super loud or crowded, so you had to be making a conscious effort to ignore us. Still, no one came over for another 4 or 5 minutes. The girl that walks over turns toward us and just stares. She doesn't say anything, no how can I help you, nothing. I go to open my mouth, then she says real rude, "do you need something?" I let her know we were there to place an order to go and maybe have a beer. She hands us menus and just turns away. We were so turned off, we just walked out and went to Mike & Tony's, which we should have done in the first place. It took less than 10 minutes to get our gyro, which made me even madder when I compare it to the near 25 minutes I had wasted at Dive Bar & Grille. Sad part is, this was my first time here and I will never walk through those...

A few days ago I had a delightful burger at this establishment. Last night, I came again with high hopes. Let’s just put it like this, do NOT get seafood here at all costs. This is completely my fault and I should have known the restaurant’s personnel better. But when you are advertising crab Mac n cheese for $28…it makes it seem as if it’s pretty good quality. Boy was I wrong. And don’t even get me started on the calamari. I’ve had good calamari before…I’ve had decent calamari before…and that was somewhere far lower. I spent $70 on food that I barely ate. This is probably the only poor dining experience I’ve ever had before. And by no means do I mean to talk poorly on the establishment because I’ve had a good experience before…but no reason in gods green earth should you be selling your seafood for that price when the quality is not there. My girlfriend was prepared to speak to the owner and stand up to the nonsense we had been served to us, but I decided it would be better for us to just move on. But in hindsight, I am regretting my decision to restrain her. Servers, cooks, this is not on you. This is on the owner who has provided this quality of seafood to the establishment and has charged that high of pricing. You guys have some good food…but, lower the price on the seafood.. actually scratch that..please take the seafood...
