This McDonald's isn't opening the restaurant to order inside which is unnecessary with where we are with Covid locally right now. The drive through line is extremely long and moves very slowly. If they don't want people inside with masks off all they need to do is not allow eating inside but allow people to order inside so the lines aren't as long.
They do not have signs posted that the dining room is closed so people are constantly parking and trying to go inside to order. They do have signs on the door saying masks are required or maybe just recommended which is very misleading when you can't actually go inside.
They do have multiple employees sitting outside the doors to the restaurant with no masks on and smoking where the drive through line passes by.
There are many other local fast food restaurants who currently allow you to go inside to order and some even to eat. I don't think McDonald's as a whole or at least the local owners/management actually care about Covid safety for their employees or customers. It seems much more likely that their refusal to allow people inside to order is simply a scheme to save money by having less employees working (since no one has to run the cash registers inside). This of course only serves to worsen the customer experience and overwork the employees.
Finally, the owner/management of this franchise doesn't care about customer satisfaction because despite numerous complaints to the corporate feedback number (WITH requests to be contacted) they have never responded to me. Corporate is a joke as well because the people at the feedback number always tell me they don't work directly for McDonald's, there is no way for them, or myself, to have my repeated complaints passed on to anyone in corporate and that they can't do anything to get the franchise owner to respond to my requests for contact. If McDonald's corporate cared about their customers they would provide a way to get in touch with them or have issues escalated to them when the franchise owner refuses to respond...
Read moreIt is ok. They do their job. They’re efficient. But they don’t say please and thank you (most of them, anyway); and it feels odd being pleasant to people working in customer service to receive a feeling of being unwelcome back. The one on N Euclid is much better with friendliness.
I have even had two incidents of outright rudeness. The most recent was that my young son will only eat hamburgers completely plain. I had repeated the order back in the window, and the employee nodded, but then made and charged me for a plain cheeseburger. I brought this to her attention, politely: and she huffed off and loudly went and got her supervisor and told him I was being “annoying” and asked him to deal with me.
That said, the manager is on top of her game and gets things done. She even speaks Spanish to her ESL employees (who are generally the cooks and not the rude cashiers I mentioned). I appreciate that very much as a Latin American who has spent many years, up until recently, with no other fellow latins around her. Recently, there have been several latins moving to Pittsburgh. Some people I know think negatively of this and assume they’re illegal and/or criminals. No, they’re people trying to make it - and as a Latin, I can tell you they’re big on family and community. It’s nice to see a manager who is welcoming and accommodating to people who are being negatively...
Read moreWorst experience at McDonalds! Ordered ahead and paid on mobile app already. Then when I arrived at the restaurant for pick up, the doors were shut while they were still operating, no staff was responding, not even responding at the speaker of drive-through. The drive through line moved incredibly slow, literally nobody was taking orders at the speaker. They just let you keep waiting! 40 MINUTES later, I eventually talked to them! Guess what, they said they never received my order in their system. Well, I showed them my mobile app confirmation page, ans asked them if they could remake the order for me. They answered me no that I need to pay again and go through the drive-through line AGAIN. They didn’t apologize but trying to lay that blame on me… What the hell was that all about?! Staff were very rude and unprofessional, complaining, cussing each other in front of me. Couldn’t imagine what kind of training the staff were given, obviously there was no management at all there. Felt being deceived and fooled as a customer, this was like a bad joke. I would never visit this store again to get starved and mistreated like this, and would tell my friends...
