I’ll need to give this place another try, but my first visit was disappointing. To be fair, we only stopped by for drinks, so I’m open to changing my review if the food experience is better next time.
The service was great—our servers were friendly and attentive. We sat on the patio and order a beer and a strawberry mojito. Unfortunately, the mojito was terrible and had to send it back, which I’ve never done with a cocktail before! The ratio of ingredients was way off... it tasted extremely strong and didn’t even seem like rum. It came with a single darkened basil half-leaf and some mashed strawberries, no mint... Different from what was on the menu. I understand if substitutions have to be made due to missing ingredients, but what I was served just wasn’t acceptable. This is one of their signature cocktails on their menu, too! Must do better.
After returning the mojito, I ordered a cider, which came out somewhat warm. I suspect the glass hadn’t been chilled. On a hot day, cider should be ice-cold, otherwise, it tastes overly sweet and feels sticky.
Attention to detail matters, especially if you’re aiming for a more elevated experience. This spot has so much potential, particularly given its location in one of Pittsburgh’s most visited areas. I’d love for visitors to walk away with a better impression of the city. Maybe they were just having an off day. Like I said, I’ll come back and would be happy to revise this review if the next visit is better. But this first experience was a letdown, especially since I was genuinely excited about this new addition to the...
Read moreAn unexpected gem! I was visiting the city with some girl friends waiting to get into our Airbnb and we stumbled upon Shiloh Plate & Pours. Wings? - Crispy to perfection. Pierogis? - Savory & Buttery. Brunch w/ a mimosa bar? -Total home run! But lets talk about the real MVP's: the people! Everyone treated us like we have been coming there for years; they were absolute legends - friendly, fast, and totally on it. But the real star of the show was Nikki! She was cracking jokes, tossing out one-liners, and was still managing the whole place while making time to banter with the people. Total pro - but also just... hilarious! If you're visiting and want a spot that's all heart, great food, and even better people - especially the manager with the stand-up comedy energy - this is your place! We stopped for a quick bite, stayed for the people, came back for brunch, and left already planning my...
Read moreMy family and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Shiloh Plate & Pour on its opening day, St. Patrick’s Day 2025, and I can’t stop raving about it! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric, and the staff made us feel right at home. They were incredibly attentive, ensuring every detail of our experience was perfect despite the opening-day buzz. The owner is an absolute gem—warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about this place. You can tell they’ve poured their heart into making Shiloh Plate & Pour something special. The food was delicious, the drinks were spot-on for the occasion, and the vibe was just unbeatable. I’m already counting down the days until I can come back—this is a Pittsburgh must-visit! Five stars...
