I’m going to preface this by saying, I only ever “complain” when something is extremely good or extremely bad, sadly this review is the latter. This was our first time at the Pittsburgh location and I will say we are pretty dissatisfied. The bad experience started when we walked in. We had made a reservation and were a bit early so we were alright with waiting if need be. When we first walked in, no one greeted us which is whatever but there was just a huge cluster of people at the front which seemed like people were waiting. So we were waiting to see if people would be helped or if they already were. Multiple people come in after and are greeted and asked what brings you in blah blah blah. So we went up and said hey we have a reservation for this time which at this point it was probably like 9 minutes before our reservation time. They said okay we will seat you soon. Every single person, reservation or not even if they came in after us was seated before us. It was really strange. Like 5 parties had to have walked in while we just sat there with our reservations. I don’t know if maybe they didn’t like the vibe when we walked in or what?? But it seemed a little on purpose in my opinion. We were eventually seated, about 15 minutes after our reservation time and about 25-30 minutes after sitting in the restaurant. I don’t mind waiting but I will never understand the point of making a reservation if you’re just going to have to wait and they seat walk ins before you. Our experience really changed when we were seated. Our waiter was fantastic, the best waiter I have ever had and I have been to lots of different places from fine dining to different types of cultural restaurant and this man was the real deal. He knew the products and menu like the back of his hand, he was extremely friendly and he made sure to check on us often to make sure we were good. He was an older gentleman and I feel terrible for not remembering his name but he is probably the only reason why I would go back to this location. He was AWESOME. I cannot say enough good things about this man. He explained everything and gave us recommendations of items on the menu to try. I have absolutely no complaints about the food or quality of it. The salad bar and hot sides are delicious, one of the better salad bars I think. The meat is also pretty good but this is where the issue is for me. I have been to Texas de Brazil before and the first time I went, I was almost annoyed but the amount of times people were coming to my table with meat. I had to have been offered every meat they have at least once, some even two or three times. I was overwhelmed almost. Here, the complete opposite. Out of the 12 or so meats on the menu with an addition of a couple seasonal items, someone came to our table maybe 6 times. We probably got 4 pieces of meat if that. Every time someone would come out with the meat, they would go to every single table near but never us. We had the green card flipped up the ENTIRE time. But the people would literally skip over us while going to the table next, behind and in front of us. It was actually really weird and again felt a bit personal??? There was one employee especially that NEVER came to us yet he went to every other table in the establishment. At one point, it was 10 pm, about 45 minutes after we were seated which they close at 10. People stopped coming out regularly at 10 but would go to certain tables with whole sticks of meat. This one table next to me got a whole rack of lamb chops at around 10:10 pm and others were continued to be served but again, green card up and not a single soul comes to us. It was really really disappointed. I can’t even eat that much but I left that place still hungry. My boyfriend was especially upset since this was his first time at an all you can eat steak House and he wanted to eat things like lamb chops, Brazilian sausage and ribs which we were never even offered yet those items went around to everyone around us. At one point, we looked at each other and said what the hell, did we do...
Read moreWe first reserved a table early morning for our Anniversary dinner for the same night for a party of 5 as well as created an eclub account, that was convenient on line, we arrived on time the host asked if we had any special occasion we of course said our anniversary, they wanted to seat us near the door. We asked for a table further away and only gave us one table over. The place is very noisy, but we over looked that. The waitress came buy and explained how things worked, the cost is $55.99 per person that included the salad bar. The salad bar was ok except there were no scalloped/ Augrotten type potatoes each time we went up. The meat servers were fun and the food was tasty, we passed on ordering softdrinks or beverages for my wife and I because our bill was already going to be over $300. Softdrinks $4.50, coffee $4.00 with refills, after we declined drinks the waitress seemed a little bit standoffish and the vibe changed, she would visit other tables more and often we had to wave for her attention, often ignored us and walked to the table next to us. We decided to pass on deserts because it was also a bit costly. I guess I was a little upset that for couples celebrating anniversaries get a complimentary desert to share as well as $20 off for a dinner for 2 and that info was never shared with us. The waitress brought us an empty plate that said Happy Anniversary with no desert, she said since you didn't want desert, Happy Anniversary. It was a bit embarrassing. Everything was fine until we stated we will have to pass on the deserts and coffee and had to ask more than once how much the coffee was. It would have been a better experience if more info was shared and we got a better table. The following info was pulled from the internet: At Texas de Brazil, guests celebrating an anniversary with the purchase of a regular dinner receive a complimentary dessert or champagne toast. This offer is valid for two guests and includes a pre-selected champagne, with no substitutions. The offer is not valid during restaurant holidays or in specific locations like Aruba, Mexico, and others. Additionally, Texas de Brazil's eclub offers exclusive deals, including $20 off dinner for two on your birthday or anniversary according to Texas de Brazil. We received no such offer on our eclub, but did offer $20 off a visit later than 48 hours account creation. The server did provide a veterans discount off our bill after I asked if they had one. She did ID me so if your a vet,...
Read moreMy Husband wanted to come here for his 40th birthday this past Sunday & I’m so happy he chose it! We’ve been here once before several years ago & had a great time. This time was even better.
The meats were seasoned to PERFECTION. My personal fave was the spicy sirloin. Normally I don’t prefer spicy foods but I figured why not? It’s a celebration. Very happy I stepped outside of the box on that one because it was incredible. The lamb was wonderful, the filet, sirloin, picanha & ribeyes were absolutely delicious.
We both enjoyed our meals immensely. The salad bar was fresh and jam packed with options. Seriously, there’s something for everyone there. Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to enjoy. I started AND ended my meal with a salad. (Does that tell you how much I enjoyed the salad bar? 🙃) We also loved the lobster bisque but we both mentioned the lack of actual pieces lobster in the soup that were missed but the flavor was certainly there. The Brazilian cheese bread was very good too. I’m not sure I remember it being THAT good in our previous visit but I’d totally take a dozen or 2 home & I wouldn’t be sharing. 🤣
Full disclosure: we do not eat pork so we didn’t try any sausages or anything bacon wrapped. However, those things weren’t missed because the meats were flowing and abundant. We tried everything else with no disappointments.
Our Waitress, Sydney was SO attentive & cheerful. She was literally a breath of fresh air. She even came over to ask us if we had tried everything we wanted to. Prior to that, we had missed the beef ribs (my husband is a huge fan of beef ribs and not many places do them justice) so we told her about it & she had someone come to our table personally to bring us beef ribs! That in itself was a 5 ⭐️ moment. The level of care & attentiveness was unmatched. We didn’t even know that was possible so thank you Sydney for being awesome!!! If you’re wondering, he said the beef ribs literally melted in his mouth & that he would come back a million times JUST for those. 😁
Overall, this was a 5 star experience. We thoroughly enjoyed his birthday dinner & will be back sooner than...
