Looking for the prettiest rooftop with panoramic views in Pittsburgh? Slide over to 📍The Finch on the South Side! Drinks, food, and all the vibes. ✨ #thingstodoinpittsburgh #pittsburghrooftops #pittsburghpa #fyp

What a true gem the entire Distillery Complex is. From the very start, we were welcomed by the most courteous bouncer I’ve ever encountered, who graciously explained how everything worked and set the tone for the evening. We made our way up to The Finch on the rooftop, put our names in, and requested a table by the windows. While we waited, we grabbed a drink and stepped outside to take in the sunset over the city, perfect for photos. Soon after, we got a text for our table and enjoyed a warm pretzel and pizzetta alongside more drinks. The staff was kind and attentive, and the food and cocktails were 🤌🏼 From there, we headed back downstairs to the Bottle Shop for a Big Springs Spirits tasting with John, who was both personable and knowledgeable. We were told we could buy a bottle and bring it to The Drawing Room, a lounge that will eventually become members-only but is currently open to the public. Naturally, we did just that. At The Drawing Room, we were once again greeted with warmth and expertise. The team gave us a tour of the humidor, helped us select cigars tailored to our tastes, and provided glasses and mixers so we could enjoy our newly purchased spirits. We settled into plush seats by a fireplace, with the windows framing yet another vibrant city view. Cigars in hand, spirits in glass, we soaked in the swanky lounge experience. I’ve visited just about every spot in Pittsburgh, but this stands out as something truly elevated and one-of-a-kind. In a single building, we enjoyed rooftop cocktails, delicious bites, a spirits tasting, fine cigars, cozy lounges, stunning views, and impeccable service at every turn. It is an all-encompassing experience and without question, my new favorite spot in the city. Go now, before it is discovered by everyone and The Drawing Room transitions to members-only.

My fiancée suggested this place for our date night after seeing the buzz on social media. I want to say, first and foremost, that the hostess and bartenders were awesome, and the staff overall looked to be super welcoming and friendly to everyone. Pros: - The cocktails were solid. - The view, sure but I’m refusing to give many bonus points for simply being on a rooftop. - Brisket sliders were fine, shishito peppers you can’t really mess up. Cons: - Our $18 “Charcuterie Board” consisted of thick cut sandwich salami, basic pepperoni, cubed pepper jack cheese, and very mediocre pita (plus grapes and dijon mustard). I have made some overpriced charcuterie boards myself for catering, but I can’t imagine plating and serving this. - For some reason most of the wall space is occupied by TVs showing slow, 360° videos of their cocktails. Just a weird and unnecessary use of space. The place doesn’t have much of a “theme.” - It’s $8 valet (+ tip) or $8 to self park nearby. Nothing else is walkable. We paid $101, with tip, for 2 decent cocktails, 3 brisket sliders, shishito peppers, and the “charcuterie board” plus $8 just to park (station square, who do you think you are?). Now that included a 25% tip because the staff was awesome, the bartenders were hauling ass on a busy summer night, and I know it’s not their decision to serve thick cut genoa salami on a charcuterie board. But man, the food and decor decisions made it feel like they’re just taking advantage of customers with their city-view, instagram-story-worthy gimmick. Hopefully the food menu was just rushed to get open for the summer months and isn’t indicative of their long term plans, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend the drive to station square for this as it is right now.

I truly hate to leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. My group of 13 and I stopped into this bar around 3 PM on a Saturday a calm, slow time of day planning to relax and enjoy a few drinks. I asked for a cocktail that I could clearly see all the ingredients for sitting right behind the bar.

The bartender, a tall, skinny male with long curly hair, looked at me and flat-out said he would not make it because he didn’t want to. His tone was arrogant, dismissive, and frankly shocking. There was no reasonable explanation — just attitude and unprofessionalism.

Not only was I embarrassed in front of my entire group, but everyone who witnessed it agreed that his behavior was completely out of line. What should have been a fun afternoon turned into an uncomfortable and disappointing experience.

This was especially disheartening because this was a place I had been considering for my upcoming engagement party. After this encounter, not only will I not be returning, but none of the 13 people I was with plan to come back either.

It’s a real shame to see a business lose that many potential customers over one employee’s rudeness and lack of professionalism. I truly hope management takes this seriously, because this kind of treatment toward paying guests is unacceptable.

If I could give this review a...
