The Chinatown Inn is a family owned restaurant that is owned and managed by the Yee family. It's history spans over 30 years. It is a delightful, Pittsburgh staple and one of the last places that remains that was once a part of, Pittsburgh's "Chinatown" the menu consists of Hunan, Cantonese, Thai and Szechuan recipes. You can get the level of spice tailored to fit your preference. I personally like a lot of spice in my meal and they absolutely delivered! They have the best, Hot and Sour Soup that I have ever had. Everything that I ordered was delicious😋. The service was outstanding and the restaurant's interior was immaculate. Their menu selections were reasonably priced and they had something on their menu for everyone to enjoy! The Chinatown Inn is a great place to take your family to eat. Parking is limited but there are many places to park nearby.

Chinatown and was my favorite for so many years it was definitely my go to Chinese place when I worked downtown I used to get them several times a month. Hands down I used to feel that they were among the top 5 being the best in the city of Pittsburgh. It has been a few years since I have had any Chinese food well at least before Covid. This was not the welcome back to Chinese food that I expected. Portion sizes were ok. Service was ok. Food wasn’t that great. Everything was very oily/greasy as hell. I forgot by default you get white rice instead of fried rice that’s not their mistake that’s mine because I completely forgot to ask for fried rice but the white rice was very dry. I got shrimp fried rice General Tso’s spicy with white meat and a shrimp eggroll. The chicken for the General sows was overcooked I know white meet is typically dry but it was very very dry. My shrimp fried rice was OK it was just a very oily tasting and that is a first for me getting it from there and it taste think so greasy leave me a coating on your tongue after every bite. My egg roll was really just not good I don’t know how you could mess up an egg roll. It was very chewy there was barely any shrimp just a bunch of filling. It was edible but I don’t know if I’ll be back. I don’t know if the holiday played apart in it maybe it’s a less busy day the food is old and been sitting around for a while or if maybe just the quality has fallen off over the years

I came here with another colleague that's also Chinese. She said she didn't have high expectations for this restaurant, even though it's the last standing Chinese restaurant in the historic Chinatown in Pittsburgh. We came here for lunch last Friday. We both got a beef and rice dish, although I asked for Szechuan beef and it's supposed to be spicy and it says it's spicy on the menu. When it came it was not spicy at all, so I called a waitress about it and she brought me a bowl of spices so I can add it into the dish. I shouldn't have to do that, but it is a compromise. The food was good without the spices. I was most disappointed with the vegetable roll. They use a very thick rice paper or egg paper to fry this roll, and I did not like it. I prefer the thinner rice paper for vegetable roll. The staff members were very friendly and it was a good seating environment though. Overall, it was an ok experience.

This is one of the last Chinese restaurants/places in Pittsburgh old Chinatown district. There are other Chinese restaurants and Markets in Pittsburgh, but this restaurant has that traditional western Chinese cuisine vibe to it. I ordered moo Shu pork, and my wife ordered Lamb with vegetables. The portions are gigantic. For the price, and quality, it is well worth it. The duck sauce and mustard sauce seems to be homemade, it has a much better texture and flavor than any other Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. Their shrimp egg roll is delicious and well worth the 3.00+. Definitely put their duck sauce in the egg roll for extra flavor. I wish Pittsburgh still had a Chinatown, like how Washington DC has a decent China town, and NY has a great Chinese district. But, for a small city they have some gems. This is one of them.

This was a very good experience. My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary on the Monday the 27th. The food is very plentiful, the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful, and the service was great. I had never eaten in a place like that before, and I felt pretty comfortable and content. The servings were large for the price and the dishes came with rice, tea, and water automatically, so it's a good deal overall. Everybody was friendly, the place was clean and they were right on it to clean the tables as guests left. They also give a bill for each member of the party so you can pay separately which I think is really awesome. I had a good time, and would recommend Chinatown Inn to anybody looking for a good spot for Chinese food in downtown Pittsburgh.

**Jumbo Chicken Egg roll** Give yourself the immense pleasure of the jumbo chicken egg roll. Words and even video do not describe the size and the fresh ingredients, it was exceptional. Food wise, the white rice was perfect. The fried rice and pepper chicken was on par to many other Chinese restaurants. Again, the standout is the egg rolls. Service was great and the food was hot and fresh. Thank you for a wonderful evening and service.
