I was looking so forward to this. I moved here to the state two weeks ago and I haven't eaten in about 48 hours due to chemotherapy. I was famished although my stomach may have been hungry my self-esteem and self-respect was intact. I could not bring myself to stay up to what had happened. The hostess was pleasant and she seated me and not even apologize for being late to coming to the hostess stand. My hair is falling out and I have a huge scar clear across my head from brain cancer. The waiter came to the table after a considerable time and he flinched when he looked at me he looked away as he started looking all around the restaurant and sent to me this is somebody else's station. He did not know who. It was just somebody else's station according to this guy who clearly indicatively did not want to wait on me. What could have happened as does the many restaurants is that server comes to your table if it's not their table to help somebody else out and say can I get you started with a drink order and your server will be with you. I couldn't work through it. I cannot justify spending 20 or $30 at a place where I'm not welcome even if it's buy one individual from the beginning of the experience.. I told another server I would like to speak to a manager. While I was waiting to hostess came back to the hostess stand as she was somewhere else in the restaurant and greeted me and asked how many were in my party and I told her you just sat me. I know this town is full of very young men and women and then there are some like me who are going on almost 70 years old with their hair falling out from cancer. Who do you think's going to get the attention and who's going to get the neglect I related this to the manager simply because I don't want anybody else to experience this. The place is beautiful and it had a very good crowd when I was there so I'm sure it's reputation is great but I don't believe they prefer or cater to people...
Read moreLet me preface this review by saying that the food (for the most part) is good and the service is excellent. That being said, recently some of the food has changed for the worse. The portions of the salads have gone down and the ingredients are not as fresh, the price has not changed. That being said the salads are still pretty good (especially the antipasto).
Every time we come here we always ordered the tiramisu because it was delicious (to the point where we would occasionally come specifically to get the tiramisu). Recently they have changed the tiramisu they serve, it is more like a sponge cake than actual tiramisu, not only that, but it is tiny and tastes frozen. We used to come and be able to split the tiramisu between two people, now it is not large enough to split without each person getting more than 2 bites. It also tastes like it was sitting in a freezer for days and, maybe most importantly, does not taste particularly like tiramisu. It’s almost as if someone tried to learn how to make tiramisu but did not have a sense of taste themselves, it ‘faintly’ tastes like tiramisu, like how that flavored carbonated water ‘almost’ tastes like fruit. The price has not changed either. Will change the review if these issues are addressed but for now very disappointed with the direction Buddy’s is going, focus more on the customer’s experience and less on...
Read moreOrdered a gluten free and dairy free pizza and they were mislabeled. After eating some of my “gluten free pizza” I began to feel sick. I called to let the manager know that the stickers were mixed up and we both had gotten sick. A person pretending to be Jess the manager on shift started yelling at me and explaining that it was my fault and I should have realized it was the wrong pizza. She never offered a refund until my mom got on the phone and said how she was speaking was disrespectful and not okay. She then said she would give a refund and didn’t acknowledge that mislabeling gluten free food is illegal through the FDA. She kept saying that she kept offering the refund even though she kept yelling at me until someone else stepped in. She refused to give her full name or give an alternative person to talk to. She then rudely yelled bye and hung up. As someone who has celiac disease i enjoyed going to Buddy’s but this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning to this location and hope someone from management reaches out to me to fix this. It is already hard enough to find places to eat as someone who is gluten free but to be sick and then treated disrespectful is crazy. I had to leave the event I was at a couple hours later due to sickness from eating the pizza...
