UPDATE: these people have lost my trust. We recently picked up an order to-go. I am very militant about checking my receipts and such. I came back home and looked at my email for the Square app receipt I usually get when I pay Everest. I was shocked to see that they had conveniently added a $10 tip to my to go order and processed the same. The nerve on these people to try to pull off such a fraudulent thing. I might never go back here again as a matter of principle and ethics. Very shameful they did this to me. I called and yelled at them and they gave a very unconvincing explanation so to why that may have happened. I don’t buy it. They reversed the extra charge but they lost my trust. Shame on them. I urge everyone to check their receipts with Everest going forward.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: Tucked away in an odd deparessing strip mall is this incredible new Nepalese restaurant. The ambience is so chill and peaceful but most of all their food is incredible. We used to be fans of an Indian restaurant on the north side of Ann Arbor but their owner’s snootiness and the overall server attitude had us looking for a new better option. And we’re so glad we stumbled upon this place. Their food right from the dal soup to tandoori chicken to paneer makhani is mind boggling. Their kheer is incredible too. I just wish their service was a tad bit warmer. The servers here seem to be a bit aloof and revenue bit absent minded or not bothered. But overall no complaints. Everest Sherpa is amazing and we highly...
Read moreWow!!! New Ann Arbor favorite. Ordered a lamb dish and asked for medium spice. It was perfect, do not think I could handle hot.
Great service, great portions. We will be returning soon!!
Have returned now multiple times - Never had a bad experience, friendly staff. Dinner can be very busy, but lunch is just right busy and they have a special - $10.99 vegetarian - comes with 4 different dishes and naan - today it was Tal Kari, Aloo Gobi, Chana masala, yellow dhal - two pieces of Naan, rice pudding and Chi tea Nepali style - I am not sure there is a better lunch deal in Ann Arbor - it was enough for two meals. There is a lamb curry or chicken dish too for $11.99, with the other dishes. It was not as spicy today, but it was still the perfect winter meal - takes me back to when I lived in Pohkara!!
Revisit (8/17/23) after new ownership - no longer are Togo containers compostable. The dish sizes have been reduced by about 30%. We used to order one dish per two people and still had one more meal, this time we ordered a dish per person and there will not be any left overs. Order extra rice, though a $3 side of rice is smaller than a school milk container. Food still tastes good, but value is no longer there. It is more expensive, you get less and it is no longer environmentally friendly. The Togo orders are ready faster than before, so that is an...
Read moreOverall an amazing place!! Despite being quite busy on a Saturday evening, I was seated within a 10 minutes even though it seemed as though we were ignored for the first 5 minutes after entering. After placing the order, the food arrived after around 20 minutes which I thought wasn’t too bad especially seeing how full the place was. The sweet lime soda drink was good although it had a little too much basil and spice and not much lime except as a garnish. The paneer makhani was great paired with the garlic naan which was thick and importantly not super dry like other restaurants in Ann Arbor. The real standout however was the chicken biryani! This is definitely the best biryani in Ann Arbor, it was very flavourful and made in a Mughlai biryani style with cashews and dry fruits. Importantly it was not dried out as I’ve experienced with all other restaurants in the area. Although this is not strictly an Indian restaurant, they have probably the overall the best Indian food in Ann Arbor and it’s not even close. The only exception to this would be if you’re looking for South Indian food, then you will have to go elsewhere. Highly recommend eating here even if there’s...
