Rem Roc's Fried Chicken and Soul Food — Restaurant in Pittsfield

We decided to try Rems tonight. We got a few different things as there are a few of us here. We got a couple meals and a couple sides. The first thing we noticed were the generous portion sizes. I like to describe the food so here goes!!! Curry chicken= very good, medium heat, tender. The vegetables with it were also very good. Pulled pork= tender, sauce was not too heavy. On the sweet side. I enjoyed it. 😉 Teryaki Chicken= very good grilled chicken breast chunks over white rice with Teryaki sauce. The children got chicken tenders with baked Mac meal. It was supposed to be 2 meals but 1 got left behind. (Side note, spoke with them and the meal will be replaced next time) They both thoroughly enjoyed it. The tenders were large. Fried perfectly and the breading was fantastic. For sides we got collards, yellow rice and baked Mac. All were very good. I especially enjoyed the greens. They were seasoned and cooked wonderfully. Very, very tender. We also got a soul quesadilla. The best way to describe it is, large, stuffed and delicious. A wonderful mix of soul food. But my favorite part of the meal, hands down, was the "SOUL BOMB". Oh my goodness. It was just perfect. I went with pork rib for the meat. You could also choose chicken. The breading was just perfect. Just enough seasoning. I was not expecting the sheer size of this thing. Packed with Mac and filled with greens and pork meat. What an amazing idea. If you are in Pittsfield MA and looking for some good food or soulfood, this is the place to go. It's a cute restaurant in the downtown area. There is ample parking as the store is located right next to a parking lot. Navigation was easy from the hotel as it was about a 10 min ride.

The owners we nice and friendly. Place was clean. The owner seems to be a basketball fan as there were a lot of sports memorabilia on the walls. It is handicap accessible as well.

The food was delicious. Serving size was filling. Options to choose from was two meats and two sides for about $15 or one meat and two side for about $10. They also, have specials available as well.

This is very personal for me. My son is the owner/operator of this amazing eatery. As parents you always want your kids to be successful and WOW is all I can say. Proud does not begin to say how I feel. He started out making dinners from his home kitchen and had such a HUGE following he decided to take a leap of faith and open this restaurant. He opened at the height of the pandemic and actually thrived when so many other businesses shut it's doors. That speaks volumes to his cooking which is done with nothing but LOVE.
