I've eaten at several Philly's and had good experiences and food at them. This one in Placentia is mediocre at best. Got takeout Philly cheesesteak with grilled onion and mushrooms with chease and onion rings. Got home and pulled out onion rings, all 5. 5 onion rings for $4.99, $1 each. Normal size, not like Farmer Boys. Definitely not worth it. The sandwich was small in size as compared to other sandwich shops. Meat didn't have good flavor or perhaps not much flavor at all. I did find a couple of small mushrooms but not enough to taste. That sandwich was $10.99. Not pleased with cleanliness either. Order taker was handling money and putting hand in the bag without washing or wearing gloves. She was behind the food prep area putting my meal in a bag and handed it to me without gloves on just prior to handling money. That place ruined it for me. I did give it 3 stars because I'm not dead yet. I'm going to take away the 3 stars if I get sick though. CARLS, FARMER BOYS, TACO BELL, MCDONALDS, ANYPLACE BUT NOT...
Read moreatmosphere was not horrible, maybe a little lackluster, from a name like philly's best, granted I'm not in Philly. I write this review as a suggestion to the owner or manager, whomever reads these. If you are out of any ingredients throughout the day place a piece of tape over the menu or something like communicating to the customers that you are out of certain things before they order to show it's out of stock. It's discerning to come to a eatery craving something you have as a option on the menu and hear it's out, then go for a secondary option and hear that is out. The sandwiches i ordered were subpar in my opinion the bread to meat ratio was obismal on most my sandwiches besides the newer bacon ranch cheese steak, although the bacon was rubbery. Customer service was five stars very friendly and helpful. If you want a Philly cheese steak reroute to Jersey Mike's. Hopefully my review is helpful to some if you choose this philly's best, hope you have a...
Read moreY'all holy MOLY, these were some of the best Philly cheese steaks of mine and my GF's LIVES. We both got the Philly's Best with onion, and I doubly recommend trying it as well. I'm sure their classic and other creations are just as good, however, because their ingredients are all so so good.
The bread they use is fresh, and handles the juices well. The cheese has a great depth of flavor, and blends deliciously into the meat- speaking of, is also delicious. Eat it FRESH. The onion the guy added, along with the pickled peppers and mushrooms only added to the glorious combination.
Their regular fries were also gooooood. Crispy, light, and hot; everything a good fry should be.
The best part? Dude took like 2 minutes to make it all. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes total.
Absolutely recommend them, they deserve everyone's business, and your taste buds deserve the...
