If you’re Big and Tall, be weary.
Giving 2 stars as my husband’s groomsmen’s suits all came out fine (they are all standard sizes.)
Knocking the 3 stars as this was a less than ideal experience for a big and tall groom. My husband who is 6’5”, 48” waist, was less than comfortable in his suit on our wedding day, even after alterations were made to ensure the delivered suit actually fit. (And not just tailoring - complete alterations were needed.)
We visited Savage Suiting as it was the recommended suit shop by our venue, and as they were so close to home we figured we’d give them a shot. A few things to note:
1 - it is an incredibly small space. My husband and his 5 groomsmen and father went, so 7 in total, and they filled the shop. Might be best to visit with a smaller group or alone.
2 - this is not a custom suit experience, they do not help you build your suit or choose fabrics and linings. (For what was spent, I wish he had had that experience or at least explored Inochino or similar options.) Instead, your measurements are taken and a suit it’s ordered to your sizing (or at least that’s what’s promised.)
I say that last part as although my husbands measurements were taken, and we were assured a suit could be ordered in his size, when delivered, his vest couldn’t even button close and wasn’t long enough to cover his waist. The jacket was incredibly tight in his shoulders and across his belly. His pants were too short, didn’t taper at the ankle and blew out at his hips. And his bow tie couldn’t clasp as it didn’t fit around his neck.
Now, had we simply purchased his groom’s suit off the rack at DXL or Men’s warehouse, I would understand coming across these issues. But we specifically visited Savage to have a gorgeous suit tailored to his measurements…so either the measurements were taken incorrectly or they cannot service larger sizing. (And to be clear, we’ve bought suits off the rack from DXL that fit my husband better than this specially ordered suit that was “to his exact measurements.”)
Now, in addition to all this and potentially the worse part - when my husband went to pick up his suit and realized most of the items didn’t fit there was no apology from the store. A statement was made that “he was a difficult fit” and it was instead suggested to take the pieces to the tailor next door to have her alter them. No remeasuring done, no confirming the correct sizes were received, simply - well this is what we have for you, take it or leave it.
To their credit, the shop did provide another vest for free, which we took to the tailor next door who added its fabric into the ordered vest to get it to close. But frankly, none of my husband’s suit should have needed to be Frankensteined together in the first place.
At the end of the day, the tailor next door saved the day and altered the suit to a place where my husband could at least wear it on our big day. However, she could still only do what she could do and he was still incredibly uncomfortable. And sadly his discomfort can be read throughout our wedding photos.
I just highly suggest doing your research before collectively spending thousands of dollars on suits at Savage. I understand mistakes happen but ultimately, they overpromised and severely...

I had very high expectations because my boss recommended Savage Suiting if I ever needed a suit. Not only did I need a suit because I was the best man of a wedding but so did six other guys I know including the groom and the rest of the groomsmen. I thought to myself this could be a really fun experience for everyone so I called up Matt to get the scoop. I must say I was impressed with what Matt had to say- whiskey, cigars, suits. It was a no brainer so I set up an appointment.
We get to the showroom and waited outside for about 10 minutes because Matt and Britannia were running late. I didn't think it was a big deal at the time but this foreshadowed the whole experience. The fitting itself was fine. Although we did not get offered a cigar, we left feeling relatively happy because we all thought we just paid for affordable, great looking suits.
Now it's time to pick up the suits. We all went at separate times because of our work schedules and the times Matt was available to meet. I get to the showroom at my lunch break to try on the suit and the pants are the wrong size. So I drive back to work, suitless. I continue to have sizing problems two additional times! Eventually I got the correct sized suit but I still needed tailoring. Turns out all my friends had sizing problems as well and one of my friends drove an hour each way 5 times to get his fixed! My friends ended up cutting their losses and took their suits to a tailor to get the size right. This whole exchange lasted weeks.
I hope you are still reading because this is where is gets good. Matt calls all of us to apologize for the inconvenience (after my friend wrote a bad yelp review) and asked that he takes the review down. I said no problem but we all fell we should be compensated for the terrible service. Matt offered to cover the tailoring fees but I felt we should be comped the full price of the suit. Matt said no and even blamed sizing on one of the guys for weight loss along with other excuses. So I rebuttled asking for half price of the suits to put this yelp issue to bed. A week has passed now and he still hasn't responded.
To sum it up, this is the most unprofessional experience I have dealt with. I am shocked with the lack of ownership for all the mistakes that have happened. Oh and by the way another wedding party I knew was going to purchase suits but then found out we all...
Read morePlease save your money. This place is an absolute joke. Savage suiting? More like savage pricing and terrible service.
Best man of the wedding lined this up and was promised a great experience with whiskey and cigars. Whole experience took 15 mins and no detailed measurements just basics. Turns out the color we wanted was "only available" in the $400 suit package that didn't even include a shirt. We said whatever we'll do it thinking we'd get a fitted tailored suit for that money. I show up to pick it up and the waist is two sizes too small and jacket doesn't fit. All the groomsmen had the same issue. I thought ok honest mistake I'll come back.(I live 45 mins away). Come back a second time and suit fits ok but bottoms need to be hemmed and was not a slim fit suit as promised.
I figured they would take care of this, especially for a $400 suit. Instead I was told to take it next door or to my local tailor, making me have to drive 45 mins again to pickup the suit. The recommended tailor hemmed my pants wrong and actually ended up yelling at me for being picky. I decided to cut my losses and take my suit to save myself another 45 min drive.
All in all this is probably the worst suit experience I've ever had. I could've saved myself valuable time and money by just going to Men's Warehouse and getting two tailored suits for that price. Never again will I go here. It would've been fine if they had gotten sizing and fitting right, but all the groomsmen had an issue. Stay away if you value your money.
Oh and one last thing. He cancelled on us twice when we were on the way for a scheduled appointment. Very unprofessional and carried on as if they hadn't done...
