We found Jimboy's after finding the Mexican dessert shop down the street, and realizing we wanted tacos instead.
A Mexican restaurant with a drive through, Jimboy's sounded like an authentic taco experience, so we parked and came inside.
It's the kind of place where the suggestion box is a decorated old shoebox, the urinal is missing from the men's room, and they have Olympic swimming on the two flat screen TV's. The swimming is strangely appropriate, as the interior is decorated like the inside of an aquarium. But hey, the AC was cold, and the service had a smile.
We had no idea how the menu worked, so we went with the daily special. We enjoyed our 1-chip appetizer, and the meal was decent. Each plate comes with a build-it-yourself bonus burrito. Not everyone could finish theirs, so the helpings were good.
All in all, a good experience. Hats off to Jimboy, who brings his Italian flair to tacos by dousing them in parmesan cheese.
Well played, sir....
Read moreWent in at 3pm. Lobby was dirty. Not a single table was wiped down. Several dirty trays and trash scattered throughout the lobby. Flies buzzing about. Bathroom had a hole in the floor. There was no line and the store was not busy. Employee at the counter was out of uniform and wearing a cat tractor hat. We waited at the counter for about a minute while he texted on his phone. He never greeted us and finally took our order. He didn't give us our drinks. We wiped down our own table while cat tractor hat guy texted on his phone. Food came out ok but we had to eat it while shooing the flies away. Food was ok, at least the cook took their job seriously. If i were to behave the way cat tractor hat did at my job i wouldn't be employed. Never coming back and you shouldn't either. Its obvious this place...
Read moreWOW, this location will teach everyone to check the reviews first; Jimboy's Tacos is staple and always good food, which is why my son and I visited for lunch today in Placerville. All I can say is, (like probably many others) this chain is struggling. Customer service at the location in Cameron Park has always suffered a little, this one is even worse. There were NO customers in line when we entered @ noon on a Sunday, and we still waited 10 minutes to order. WTH? There seemed to be only two staff members working, took forever to get the food, and the entrees (including literally Jimboy's beef tacos) BARELY met the standard of Jimboy's 🌮 tacos. Clearly these chain food restaurants are in a downward spiral. I could go on, but I feel bad for the staff members left trying to...
