Yesterday, I wrote this review of Romeos in frustration and in haste. Instead of being critical of the service I received from that night’s employees, I should have contacted the owner personally and then wrote my review. It would then have read like this: I ordered a to-go order last night and had a problem with the food. Although it was aggravating, I have to say that we have been dining at Romeos for over 12 years. The fact that it is a convenient location for us, we frequent the restaurant at least once or twice a month. While dining in, we have never had a bad meal which keeps us coming back. As with any long term relationship with any establishment, it should be anticipated that you may have a problem. In this case, I tried to iron out the problem with an employee that did not have the dedication to the restaurant that the owner does. So while still aggravated, I wrote the below review. After it posted, I was immediately contacted by the owner who satisfactorily explained what happened and who was willing to go overboard to ensure we would continue as steady patrons. So I learned something today. Not to be so hasty with criticism because of the service you receive from an employee that might be sub par. Address the situation with the people who are dedicated, caring and love what they’ve been doing for about 38 years. So, after talking with the owner, I would like to retract my review listed below, however, I’m leaving it to show that a business like Romeos deserves customer appreciation and not hasty criticism. We’ve been eating here at least two times a month for quite a while until last night. Trying to support Mom and Pop places only during the Covid shutdown we ordered to-go food from Romeos to do our part in supporting them. Unfortunately, We noticed that the dine-in prices were the same as the take out prices but the amount of food was less. I would buy Manicotti there and get 4 in my order, but only 3 in the to-go order. Bringing it to their attention after the third time, all we got was an apology. Last night, Sunday, July 25, 2021, we bought $55.00 worth of to-go. The chicken parm was so over cooked, you couldn’t cut it with a knife. Not taking a chance on Monacotti, I ordered stuffed shells. The pasta was undercooked and stiff. When we called, we were told they had to see the food in order to credit my debit card. They said thats the boss’s policy after calling him. They then offered to cook us another meal so we could eat our meals an hour after the rest of our family was finished, yet they wouldn’t believe us about our food. I’m trying to support them yet I felt as though I was being accused of trying to rip them off for chicken parm and stuffed shells. We told them if they wouldn’t offer something fair, we would stop coming. They didn’t seem to care. The man just repeated, “That’s the boss’s policy”. He said, “The owner would fire him for giving is a refund”.What a shame. We’ll now go where our business is appreciated. Wayne...

I visited the romeo's ristorante italiano(not the pizza area, i am talking about the other door of the restaurant which has fine dining) at plainsboro as I was hungry and looking for a place to eat.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a hostess named Melody. Unfortunately, instead of receiving a warm welcome, I was met with unfriendly face, fake smiles and judging looks of Ms.MELODY and I saw her making faces with another male employee when I asked for a dine in. This behavior made me feel unwelcoming and uncomfortable, as if I didn't belong there.
Despite their initial reaction, I was eventually offered a table. However, the negativity and judgment I initially encountered lingered, preventing me from feeling comfortable enough to stay and dine. I ultimately decided to leave the restaurant without ordering anything because of this uncomfortable atmosphere.
I came to CVS pharmacy near by and visited this restaurant. I am in tension as my husband returned home from emergency the same day. I am worried about his health. After picking up the medicines from cvs pharmacy I thought i can eat something really quick and take some food to my family while I wait for my child's english class to end near by so i will not end up cooking late at home.I am sad and confused at that time as you know many thoughts keep coming about his health. I was dressed casually and normally, as I had not planned to visit a restaurant that day. I hope u understand my situation and never look down on anyone. I entered as i am feeling really hungry after spending sleepless and worried 2 days and nights at emergency. I believe that people's actions ultimately define them, leaving a more lasting impression than their appearance. Ms. MELODY, you look beautiful but your judgmental behaviour made you look ugly. Be kind to everyone. You cannot understand others situation unless you are in their shoes. Hope you understand atleast now. This is a very small place to dine in. Even 5 star and 7 star restaurants behave well with KINDNESS towards everyone without judging people. Hope better staff will be replaced in future. This experience added much more sadness for my day and left me in...
Read moreThis review is a long time coming but my husband and I live a few towns away and prefer Romeo’s over our local Italian restaurants even if it means driving a little further! We are always so impressed with the customer service here and appreciate how kind and personable the staff have been with us; whether it’s the person taking our order on the phone or working the register, it always feels like they really value our business compared to others in our neighborhood (there is a woman who I usually see at the register who is just the sweetest ever and always very down-to-earth).
Their food never disappoints - we like getting their veggie pizza and Brooklyn pie, and they are often very generous with the toppings; they were also glad to accommodate me when I requested a crispier crust while ordering recently. During warmer months, they offer outdoor seating and live entertainment on occasion, which makes for a great date night or family get-together! We discovered Romeo’s one day while en route to our favorite bubble tea place in the same plaza, but now we try to make it a stop while we’re in the area and pick up a pie when our friends come to visit. I highly recommend them to everyone, their service and food...
