This restaurant has a vast menu of all different types of Indian curries, appetizers, dosas, desserts, biriyani, and more. It's located near the border of Plano and Frisco, which is a nicer area compared to other Indian restaurants I've been to. The first thing that stood out to me is the AC!! Maybe I just have a couple of bad experiences but all the Indian restaurants I've been to do not turn on their AC at all.
The menu is huge, a little too crowded for my liking. It was straight-up lines back to back. My friend recommended this place so we just let him do the ordering. We got 3 curries, 2 appetizers, biriyani, and stir fry noodles. Everything came one out one by one, but it was pretty yummy and tasty. I like the gobi manchurian and the egg curry the most. The flavors were solid, and they gave us so many eggs for the curry. The Szechwan noodles were soggy. It reminds me of a mixed version of pad Thai and lo mein-- I wasn't a fan. The chicken curry has a good kick of spice, and I like how tender the chicken pieces were. Each entree dish comes with rice or butter naan, but we upgraded to garlic naan instead.
The total came out to be $91 before tips, which isn't bad. The portions were good and fed 4 people happily, along with a couple of containers of leftovers. When we asked for togo boxes, the server looked at our table and brought back 2 containers. I was so confused because we had 4 dishes left and two of those needed big boxes (noodles and biriyani). The service wasn't great after you get the food. We were out of water for a while and nobody checked on us. We had to get up and go up front to ask, and also order any extra dishes. When we paid, we wanted change for the tips but our server just took the extra $5 and even made a dirty look like it wasn't enough tips (it was 18%).
The one thing that made this experience terrible was as we were leaving, the server stopped us asking for a quick review. I assumed it was like if you have time, please give us a review, etc. Nope. She STOOD there, staring at us until my boyfriend take out his phone and leaves a review. I was so confused about the situation. As much as I understand restaurants want feedback, this was not the way to go. You don't give bad service and then expect to get an instant review. She made us stand in the middle of traffic and drop a review. My boyfriend felt super uncomfortable, but it didn't look like she was going to let us leave if we didn't. I liked some of the food, but the service given by the female server changed my...
Read moreI don't write a lot of reviews, but I think a review of this occasion was necessarily due to understandable reasons. On January 25th 2023, the restaurant was running a BOGO special for celebrating there 13th anniversary. I ordered and prepaid online. I received an email at 5:10pm that my order was confirmed. Knowing how popular this special would be, I planned on picking up my order an hour later. When I arrived at 6pm, it took me about 20 minutes just to find a parking place as people were parking in the parking lot illegally in the road blocking in the fire lane! Really! But at least they put there hazard lights on!.. When I got in the restaurant, there was about 50 people all around the counters waiting for there orders. At first, this put a smile on my face because I kinda knew that this was going to be chaotic but not to this extent. The take-out had two sides, one for placing an order, and one for pick-up/online orders. I proceeded to wait patiently behind the crowd of people trying to get there online orders. The system seemed to be, hear your name and verify with your last 4 digits of your phone number. After 30 minutes of waiting and slowly inching my way closer to the counter, cus that's what "looks" like the best way to get your food, I then started to get frustrated. Mainly, because people were trying to get to the counter and were being rude. One people said, excuse me, just to get in front of me! I mean, Really! I want it now! My time is important... Oh the social experience was fun. I proceeded to wait and try to listen for my name but never heard it. At this point, It's been over an hour, I placed my order two hours ago, and I've seen the staff go through about 30 dishes on the counter at least 10 times and never heard my name. I finally left screaming and yelling... just kidding. I did have a hard time leaving the parking lot because again, someone was blocking the exit in the parking lot!!! đ.
The next day, I returned to the restaurant to see if they would honor my order, and they did.
In conclusion, I'm hopeful that most of people that didn't get there food were understanding. I was. I wasn't at first, but I was hungry angry. I don't think this will happen again. I'll be back as long as they keep that food...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with my recent dining experience at Bawarchi Indian Cuisine and feel compelled to leave a review. Despite the pleasant atmosphere the food definitely did not meet my expectations.
To start the biryani I ordered was served cold. Biryani is meant to be a flavorful and piping hot dish but unfortunately this was not the case. The cold temperature completely ruined the experience and I was left with a dull and unappetizing meal.
Next I decided to try the dosa. Much to my dismay it was undercooked. The dosa lacked the crispy texture and golden color that makes it so delicious. It seemed like it was rushed or not given enough time to cook properly. This lack of attention to detail in preparing such a popular dish was a major letdown.
To add to my dissatisfaction the curry that accompanied the dosa was spoiled. The aroma alone was off-putting and upon tasting it I immediately knew it had gone bad. This kind of negligence is unacceptable especially from a big chain like Bawarchi Indian Cuisine.
As a customer I had high hopes for a delightful Indian dining experience. Unfortunately Bawarchi failed to deliver on the essential aspects of good food preparation. The cold biryani undercooked dosa and spoiled curry were not up to par with what I would expect from a reputable restaurant.
It is truly unfortunate that a well-known chain would overlook such crucial aspects of their food quality. I would have thought that as a respected establishment Bawarchi would prioritize the satisfaction of their customers by ensuring that their food is prepared with care and meets the expected standard.
In light of my disappointing experience I regrettably have to leave a one-star review for Bawarchi Indian Cuisine. I hope that they take this feedback seriously and strive to improve their food quality and attention to detail...
