Hiro has been my hairstylist for over a year and prior to that, I’ve always had Japanese hairstylists in NYC and Dallas. I’m very selective about choosing a hairstylist. During my very first appointment over a year ago, Hiro gave a very in-depth consultation examining the condition of my hair, inquiring about what I am looking for as well as his recommendations on coloring and a long term plan on repairing the years of chemical processing.

My hair is on the thinner side with some gray around the roots so I see him approximately every 2 months for coloring, cut, treatment and a few months ago did the Japanese straightening to minimize the frizz and make my hair easier to manage on a daily basis. Despite the frequent colorings, my hair has little to no damage and I always leave the salon with silky soft and shiny hair.

From the numerous conversations I’ve had with him, I can tell that Hiro is passionate about his profession as he spends lots of time researching the latest Japanese products and incorporating techniques he learns from Japan. He only uses high quality hair products from Japan.

Japanese permanent hair straightening. First time client. The salon is located inside an office building inside Salons by JC. Check in with the receptionist, and they can help you find his cubicle. My hair is very fine and gets a bit wavy and frizzy when air dried/blow dried. I came in to get a Japanese hair straightening. It was my first time getting this done, and took about 3 hours. Hiro is very nice, considerate, and thorough. He is a bit more on the quiet side (which I prefer) as I had not gotten much sleep the past few days, so it was nice not having to make small talk during the process and there was no awkwardness at all. Once the straightening was done, he offered a hair cut and a few suggestions on how to maintain my hair. I opted to just clean up my ends and fix the layers in the front. He also takes a before and after picture (with permission), where you can really see the difference. It has only been a few days, but I am very happy with how my hair has turned out. I had my Japanese straightening treatment with Hero 3 days ago and I am truly blown away by the results.

I had Japanese straightening done 20 years ago, and many Brazilian blowouts since then, but stopped these due to fear of chemicals. Since stopping, my hair texture was totally unmanageable — insane volume, frizzy, crazy curls, and had to be dried/straightened which was always time consuming.

I was worried about damaging my hair with the Japanese straightening due to my full head of highlights — Hero was so careful to use special solutions for each section, and I left with almost 0 damage (he trimmed maybe 1/2 an inch from the bottom).
