Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Plano

I never left a review before in my life so this is a first.

Host was nice and was sat on time. Server didn't show up until 15-20 minutes after being sat. Our table was a little sticky and gross.

Our server never paid attention to us. The only time they paid attention to us was when we were asked for our drinks and food. We had to constantly ask for our drinks to be refilled and had constantly ask for someone else to refill our chips and salsa (which they never did), and our server forgot to give us our appetizer and then gave it to us AFTER we finished eating. We asked them 5 times if our appetizer was coming (not exaggerating) and we had to ask other servers do us a favor because we were ignored for almost the whole time and we were there for 90 minutes.

Anyways, other than the bad service our food came out great but it took a long time to get it sent to us (there were only 10 tables). Our single desert took 25 minutes so we had to ask if it was being made.

ALSO they don't care about the customers, we told them about table that was waiting for 20 minutes without getting help and our server literally said "they can wait just like the other tables." Did that mean we were purposely ignored until 15-20 minutes?? and another lady server was clearly annoyed when we told her about the other table.

I worked in the restaurant industry for 4 years and this is sad. The restaurant wasn't even busy, there were only 10 tables and at the restaurant I work at, we can handle all of them with only 2 servers and 2 servers alone. This restaurant had a busser, at least 3 servers, and a host, and even then they couldn't get their stuff together. So don't say "oh but they were understaffed", it's understandable if it was a full restaurant but it was only 40% full with extra help.

Never have I ever left a review in my life but this restaurant was horrid. Anyways, fix your act and give other customers the service that me and many other tables deserved as I saw other people...

So let me start with the first thing. The food is great. Manager is rude and our waitress was extra annoying too. What had happened was me and my parents came here for a good meal and the famous margaritas- well I had forgot my wallet at home since they offered to pay for dinner and I actually am 21 so I just didn’t get a drink because I know that you have to show them your id. Well- what had happened was we asked the waitress if our parents are allowed to buy and serve us beverages bc of the situation and she said no, which we totally understood and we were respectful- well my mom had seen the manager watching our table to see if we were drinking (which we weren’t) - and the manager came over after stalking our table all night and yelled and caused a scene about how she was serving it to us. Really unprofessional the way she handled that and also there’s just so many things wrong with that situation- the manager “counting” her wad of money right over our table stalking us as we ate our meal and nodding over to our waitress was just completely unacceptable. We felt like we were doing something wrong when we weren’t even doing anything wrong. We were respectful and understood the rules and she handled it so Rudely. Makes me sad because it made my parents feel weird and me and we just wanted to eat a good meal. So customer service id say is a thumbs down 👎🏻 she did apologize right as she handed us the receipt if we wanted to put a tip.. like...

Usually Chili's is consistent across the board. We just stopped in for a quick lunch and are used to seeing signs everywhere we go saying they are short staffed these days and to please bear with them. This location was no exception. The hostess was friendly and smiled (which is sometimes rare these days, which is why I wanted to make it known) and it was no time to wait for a seat in only the cocktail area because the whole rest of the restaurant wasn't available (again - assuming that was because of how hard it is to get employees lately). Once seated, we did not have to wait long to be greeted, and our drink order was ordered and delivered very timely! We ordered our meals with ease and it was delivered timely as well. While our human food runner was great. I found myself amusingly watching their other server that was delivering food. I didn't catch her name, but it was a robot that was going around with trays of food, helping in the running of the food. I thought that was great!!! It was obviously there to help, and it was doing that well and it did not take away from our personalized service, nor was it an inconvenience. With everything that's been going on in the world, it was fun to see how Chili's was attempting to help with the process of delivering a good meal.

The manager was on the floor and visible. The store was clean. The servers and host helped to make a good dining experience for lunch and I say good job,...
