Lucky City — Restaurant in Plano

Great food. Price not bad. But awful Service. We called ahead ordering a duck 15 minutes before our arrival. I asked that if we can do this. On the other side of the phone they said okay. The duck is normally slow and we have a small kid who's impatient to wait. When we arrived, the waitress gave me some attitude for no reason. Then we waited 20 minutes for the duck. Peking duck is great by the way. I just hope they can tell me the truth that they can't do pre-order. And also, when we arrived, the staff were eating rice dumplings in the dining area. When we tried to order these rice dumplings we got the answer that we can't because they don't sell them. I understand that they don't sell staff lunch. I just don't understand why they have to eat those in the dining area during business hours if they don't sell. Their food is great but as a lot of Chinese restaurants, they can be unprofessional sometimes. A friend recently took me to Lucky City, a venue I hadn't visited in a decade. Its considerable distance from my residence may have contributed to my prolonged absence. However, a friend brought me there on a Saturday night, and it was packed with patrons. We sat down, but our food didn't arrive until an hour later. Upon arrival, I only enjoyed the fried shrimp. The orange beef was overly sweet, the tofu fish lacked flavor and was too hard. On a separate occasion, my mother ordered the seafood crispy noodle and soy sauce chicken, which were satisfactory. However, the seafood crispy noodle only included three small shrimp, mostly accompanied by imitation crabmeat. The flavor was acceptable, not overly salty. Nevertheless, I didn't appreciate the environment. Given the nature of the establishment, I didn't expect exceptional service. Will I return? Yes, I will, as the dishes were reasonably priced. Food was delicious with reasonable pricing. The staff was great with helping to pick which options were better. Had BBQ duck, BBQ pork, Crispy Roast Pork, Water Spinach, Clam in Black Bean Sauce, Peking Style BBQ Pork Chop, Salted Fish & Tofu & Chicken Hotpot, and Stir Fried Rice Noodle Cantonese Style. Everything was delicious and the portion size was big. The service was good and the waitress was quick to provide us with water and take out order. I would definitely come back with friends and family and order food to go as well.

Update: Came back with more family who haven't tried Lucky City before. The food didn't disappoint! Everything was delicious and once again the quantity was great for the asking price! Got: Spicy Fried Squid, Lemongrass Pork Chop, Combination Tofu Hotpot, Clam in Ginger Sauce, and Beef with Mushroom, Snow Pea, and Bamboo Shoot.
