DIANNA ——— I want everyone to know that name. She was our server. She was extraordinary. She carried so much knowledge about the menu and relayed it all to me. I had extra questions, she gave me what I need to be confident in my decisions and the meal I was eating! She had an effective first impression coming us for the introduction. Than spent ample amount explaining the menu, which was gorgeous, but I had no clue what anything really was. She also got out of her “bubble” and threw out some laughs, smiles, and personal opinions that I really admired. I probably didn’t say everything I want, but go and ask for her!
The restaurant. It’s feeling was very upscale and like a lounge, but it had a sports bar and very open space. It was a little intimate, but there were families and friends around to enjoy and eat together, so it wasn’t necessarily just for romantic dates. I don’t remember if music plays besides what’s in the TV, but my focus was on the personal I came with, and the entertainment by Dianna. I think the main entrance is right off to the left of the main mall entrance, but I did get confused because there is a gap that leads into the restaurant from the mall, but no one near the gap. Plus, off the the right of the gap is window of workers for the same restaurant serving something. That was unclear, how the two are related. But nonetheless, we stepped food for a third time and finally someone walked from the main entrance to take us to our table.
The food. Was nothing like I have ever tasted. I was surprised when brought to the table was complimentary pork Rhines and 2 dishes of salsa. It was super delicious. I wanted more and more and more, but I controlled myself. Next, went through the whole menu Dianna and companion. Got her recommendations. And like imagery of what the plate was. After we got a few minutes, we got the camote dip and pollo de la brasas. Camote- it was sweet, yummy, green, and crunch! It also comes with perfect portioned chips that were tasting fresh and yummy. Our main meal came and it was overkill. It was a whole chicken and on top of a bed of rice that was equally as good. The chicken bone ssmoothly off the body, but every now and then had to use a knife to cut the hair line little skins or whatever. Also note- it takes about 30 minutes but not just being nice..... with the company of wife and Dianna, plus the camote and pork rhines, it didn’t feel like that much time.
I recommend having rice with the chicken. It’s a beautiful combination.
So over all. I didn’t have too much interaction with the staff.our host, swiped us from the gap in wall where we first stood, to the host table, to or dining table. We also had A separate server (I think), bring us the camote and our main course, pollo de las brasas.
Restaurant. It’s didn’t get busy until 5:30. That’s also when I noticed more staff in the restaurant. It was clean and definitely had a style of decoration, but any type of attire is suitable. Had great water provided by Vero. You cannot keep the glass, I asked, but you can come back and it will still be there. It’s like boss water, but it’s look goes well with the restaurant
Con- do not like the unclear entrance in the mall and then no one to guide us. The extra kiosk if I may of the restaurant, past the entrance gap, that is super tiny and also unclear what purpose it serves.
Service. Impeccable. I have only one experience with Dianna, but first impressions are key and it...
Read moreThis is now my go-to Mexican restaurant.
I'll start with the server. She really took care of us. We had Tatiana, and as our first time there, we chose the Mexican Bar Company Experience. Look on the menu, because it is a little pricey, but so worth it. If you have 2 people, you will easily get enough food for 4. However, you get a huge variety of things to try, so it is an amazing experience. I'll break down what we got, though yours could be different. The staff chooses the door for you unless you ask for something specific.
Now, when a restaurant brings out chips AND chicharones before the meal, you already have me hooked. Warning, the red salsa is a little on the hot side.
For the experience, they started with the Aguachile ceviche and guacamole. Loved the guacamole. The ceviche was a tad on the spicy side, but still good. I definitely could not eat a large serving of it.
Next course was two Al Pastor street tacos. These are pork taco with a sauce and pineapple. Well balanced and flavorful.
Next was an order of their Brussels sprouts. Now, I have had good and bad Brussels sprouts in restaurants. I have made some great ones at home. These were the best I've ever had. Slightly sweet, but savory due to the pork belly. Amazing.
Next, more street tacos. I didn't see this one exactly on the menu, but it was a marinated beef with jicama slaw on top. Again, well balanced. The meat was spicy, but the slaw balanced it out. They're excellent too.
Last was the Pollo a las Brasas. I love this dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly and has an amazing spiced glaze on it. They top that with this creamy garlic mojo sauce. Together, the flavor is simply divine. Those flavors together fall onto the bed of rice below it as well. In with the rice is fried plantains. The flavors in this dish are out of this world. Now, by the time we got to this, we were already ready to pop, so took most of this dish, as well as a whole lot of the Brussels sprouts home, but no regrets. It'll be an amazing full meal for the next day.
In addition, we tried a couple of the drinks. It's a "bar company" after all. The Antioxidental is good. A little on the sweet side, but refreshing. A great palette cleanser between courses for sure. We also tried the Cheekita. This one was a little less sweet and also very refreshing on a summer day. You definitely get the guava flavor in it.
All in all, I'd definitely recommend the restaurant. Also, if you are a first-timer, go for the MBC Experience. Go hungry if you do. If you can eat it all, you are better than me, but it's the best way to try a little bit of some of their...
Read moreI was looking for somewhere fun to take my wife dancing for our anniversary. I waited 'til the day prior to plan a date, so I didn't have enough time to really think it through. This place came up in my search, and it was exactly what i had hoped for. Upscale and classy for a romantic date, but just enough to also enjoy a casual dinner with friends/family. Pulling up can be just a tad confusing as you park in the mall parking lot because it is a bit hidden. Didn't realize they had valet until we parked and walked over from the mall lot. Aside from that, walking through the lot all dressed up had us wondering if we might have overdressed... We didn't.😁
We went to the Saturday night event with the dance lesson. We arrived early to have dinner before the fun and watched the place transform from a dining area to an open dance floor. The server was great and helped us figure out what to order since we couldn't figure out what we wanted.
They started us out with the complimentary chips and salsa, plus chicharron. No complaints there. Our first item was the Brussel sprouts dish, which was great but actually kind of sweet. We used some of the chips salsa to level it out, and it worked out great. My wife and I decided to share a plate, so we decided on the al pastor street tacos. Finished off the meal with 3leches cake and coffee. Then we hit the dance floor to sweat it all out.
Everything was as i had hoped it would be, except for the tacos. Considering the price, i was expecting to be wowed, but it was quite disappointing. The tacos were street size, and the meat wasn't bad, but that's it. No cilantro, onions, or lime served with it. The tortilla is just as important as the meat, and this is where it really fell flat, in my opinion. Bland store bought white corn tortillas. Not even the thin ones. I was really hoping for handmade tortillas, or at the very least, yellow corn tortillas. $17 for 3 tacos with no sides, sets an expectation of which it fell far from.
This was my first visit and we really had a great time. I'll definitely return to try other menu items, but the main attraction for me is the music...
