First time here and the food did not disappoint on flavor. It seemed not too busy, we saw some open tables but it was still a 20 min wait. The restaurant looked clean and it had a very cute decor. It was light and open. It also looked to have an enclosed covered patio area as well. We did encounter some dirty silverware and some random French fries in the ice cream of the French toast but it was okay. We started off with the biscuits and gravy which were awesome! The biscuits were homemade and fluffy and the sausage gravy flavor was amazing. The only recommendation is for them to add more gravy. When I asked the waiter if he could give extra gravy he stated that he could only give regular gravy and not the sausage gravy because of the limited amount they cook...(I was like whaaat). So we went ahead and asked for it but it did not taste as good and it was not hot or warm at all so that was disappointing. The chicken and waffles were pretty dern tasty, even though they were chicken strips, but they were well seasoned and fresh. The honey butter over the chicken drizzled with the syrup along with the waffle was a great bite! Next was the Pecan Pie French Toast, and let me tell you...I've never had such a great tasting and surprising French Toast before and the mind blowing thing was the vanilla ice cream on top! It definitely was sweet so you can have it as a dessert šŸ˜‰. We order a side of sausage, eggs over medium which were cook perfect, and cheese grits which also tasted great and were "fork" thick like I like, the only thing that I would have taken off were the green onions. Over all we enjoyed the food and service and would definitely recommend eating here and coming back!

First, I must say that I picked this restaurant for the uniqueness of the name...Whistle Britches. Then I saw that it had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed how lovely the atmosphere presented a cozy ambiance. It was warm and charming with a pleasant aura. I like how quiet it was, and it wasn't overwhelming with loud guests. Everyone seem to respect each other's dining experience. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side order of fried green tomatoes. The waffle was deliciously soft and mildly sweet, and the chicken was tender enough to cut with my fork. I was very impressed. My friend ordered the Challah French Toast and a side order of deviled eggs. The French Toast was fluffy and flavorful with absolutely fresh fruit and heavenly sauces over all of it. Yummmm!!! The only complaint was that my friend's deviled eggs tasted flat. She told me the egg mixture inside the eggs had no flavor, so she only ate one. The presentation is absolutely beautiful as the deviled eggs are nestled on a bed of alfalfa sprouts. It looked pretty, but it failed. Maybe the cooks/chefs could make an improvement on this. We noticed the huge portion sizes for the others' patrons, and everyone seemed satisfied with their meal. Our waitress Diana, was professional and pleasant and always had a smile on her face. Both of us loved our dining experience and will most likely return. I love saying this. Good job, Whistle Britches!!!!

Went to this place right around peak brunch time and it was a pleasant visit. Nothing necessarily blew me away with me this visit but nothing disappointed me either. Beer was cold & fresh, mimosas were solid and tasty. Ordered the biscuits as an ā€œappetizerā€ and they were served with honey butter, and I believe, peach flavored jam (seasonal jam). Biscuits appeared dry but their size was commendable. Depending on how many are in your party, you could probably settle with just one or two of these & break them into pieces to serve as just a small appetizer for you & the table. For my main course, I went with the Mother Clucker & their side of three cheese Mac. I chose the bacon Mother Clucker and added a fried chicken breast ($6 extra). The sandwich was actually pleasing and flavorful, with a solid dose of seasoning & powerful flavor from the cheese. I was initially unimpressed with the Mac but as I continued to dig in I found it sufficient and satisfying. I love a good bowl of Mac & cheese & can easily be let down by it if it is not what I expect. This batch appeared to be more watery than creamy (which is what I prefer). Service was commendable and polite; as well as the overall restaurant atmosphere being pleasant and inviting. Perhaps there are better brunch spots to go to in the area or metroplex but Whistle should not be completely abandoned. It offers a warm and satisfying experience that ultimately makes your visiting worthwhile.

I would like to start by saying this was not our first time visiting WB, but my wife and I usually go to the original location off of Preston and Frankfort.

This is our second time at the Willow-bend location. First visit we got chicken and waffles to go ( we live less than 3 miles away) and our food was slightly cold. My wife and I were at no means upset thinking that maybe it’s just hard to keep it warm while driving home and expectations were lower due to that fact.

This visit today (11/30/2020) was unfortunately not a pleasant experience.

Our hostess, was phenomenal! Extremely nice and happy to have us. Our waitress was nice as well and I was having a hard time decide what I wanted since the Biscuits and Sausage gravy are not offered at this location.

Our waitress strongly recommended to try the Don Chingon and a side of garlic butter fries, in which I agreed!

Once our food arrived (My wife ordered the Whistle Britches biscuit) and it had a slab of butter and a small dab of the jelly not melted or spread. Finally realizing her food was room temperature at best.

My order (Don Chingon) arrived with horrible presentation, cold chicken and there was no queso on the sandwich either as described in the menu and had a small smear of guacamole. Lastly my fries again, were room temperature. Both of our chicken plates were dry as if it was day old chicken. (Definitely not fresh as we have been to WB WELL OVER 50+ times)

I waited for about 10-15 minutes as our waitress came back and I hadn’t taken any stabs at my sandwich yet. In which I told her ā€œI don’t want this anymore, we are on a time crunch; I will take the check for my wife’s lunch please and thank-you.

Our waitress instead; sent my food back to The kitchen for my food to be ā€œRE-HEATEDā€ and put in a to-go box.

Firstly; coming from customer service and a long history of being a professional pit master that is the last thing I want to hear. How about make the meal fresh at least since my first request of ā€œI don’t want it anymoreā€ was over looked in the first place.

This was a sad experience and unfortunately my wife and I will be driving to the original location from now on even though we don’t live on that side of town anymore.

Unfortunate event and I hope the staff gets the proper training they need to match the professionalism and the same standard of food presentation and taste as the original location.

My husband and decided to try WB because a friend recommended it. We arrived around 8pm and was seated quickly. There were only about 3 other people in the entire restaurant. Our waitress Alyssa came to the table after about 15 minutes and never greeted us, just asked what we wanted to drink. My husband asked for a mango margarita and I ordered a house frozen. She said they only had watermelon so we settled ( odd). She came back to the table and said she was wrong and they were serving other flavors. My husband asked for a swirl and she said it would be a $2.00 upcharge??? We said that was fine and she brings two regular margaritas to the table. We informed her we had ordered a swirl and she reminded us again it was an upcharge.... Okayyyy!!! She comes back to the table with a half frozen drink that had some type of syrup poured over it. It was insanely sweet and disgusting to say the least. Alyssa was very impersonal to the point where it came across as rude. She proceeded to take our order we asked for the kungpai wings, the pork chops and fried fish with fries and corn fritters. My husband asked what sides come with the pork chops which she said mash potatoes and green beans. He asked to sub the mash out with another side, she said it would also be an upcharge. He said the original sides would be fine. When the server brought out our food, my fish was cooked beautifully however the fries and corn fritters were over cooked. My husbands pork chop looked as if it were cooked in old grease and he had what appeared to be a salad on his plate. We asked the server where we're the sides and she said the salad was the side??Alyssa then comes to the table and says " my bad" those sides I mentioned were on our old menu. I told her to just bring the check for the wings ( which were undercooked) and drinks and we were leaving. She closed our tab without any apologies NOR did a manager come to the table to see what transpired. The service was horrible and Alyssa really could benefit from Customer Service training.... honestly all of the staff we encountered could. We asked for to go waters after she brought the drinks because she didn't offer any and she brought two regular glasses of water. This was an all around horrid dining experience and I would never recommend WB nor return. There are better restaurants in the area where you'll receive...

I usually only leave good reviews. If a business I visit is subpar I will normally overlook the experience as a one off but this restaurant is the exception. I really thought this was going to be a nice experience when we arrived. It was a nice place with a cool vibe and a modern twist on comfort food. That thought left me fairly soon after arriving. We ordered a couple of beers and my girlfriend wanted a lime with hers. Our waiter forgot and I nicely reminded him of the lime. He seemed to have an attitude and didn't want to admit he had forgotten the lime. It's a small thing I realize and I was more taken aback by the attitude than the fact that he forgot. Oh well things happen and working in the public can be a difficult job so we overlooked the attitude. Then came the uncompromising attitude of the server and the restaurant. My girlfriend ordered the $18 chicken fried steak. It comes with beans and whipped potatoes. She asked if French fries could be substituted for the whipped potatoes. We promptly received a NO. I understand that some restaurants charge for substitutions but that wasn't even offered. We were told that the restaurant doesn't like diners to change items, especially on that plate. I'm still trying to understand why my girlfriend could not have one starch in place of another. I offered to buy the side as an extra add-on but she declined on principal. She kept getting bumped by wait staff as they scurried by. All in all it was the worst dining experience I've had in some time. Hopefully if you go you will have a better experience but I won't be going back. This restaurant is a little overpriced considering the quality of food but since it's part of the new mall expansion that is understandable. Poor service...
