For food, ONLY order the Hong Kong specialties if you are aiming for Chinese food! If you want like Thai food, go to a real Thai restaurant instead.
The only problem on the Hong Kong menu is that the pork chop is too fatty, but it's up to your personal preference.
For drink, the Hong Kong milk tea 港儶 is gorgeous, but DO NOT order the Hong Kong milk tea with coffee鸳鸯, it tastes like drip coffee made into americano, for which the authentic Hong Kong style should use strong black coffee.
The drink is not sweetened, so grab the sugar bottle from the utensil bar if you want sweetness. Typical Hong Kong restaurant provides simple syrup, but sugar is fine, just stir more if you order an iced drink.
Overall, for food and drink, you should expect an average food truck/food festival event level quality.
For service, the uncle at register is nice, bu the aunt at kitchen is kind of "rude". When one of my friends got a "chashu" bowl, she got a chunk of chicken mixed with the pork chops. It's probably just a small mistake that the Latino kitchen worker accidentally mix in the grilled chicken from other dishes, but since it's just 2-3 little pieces, it's totally fine.
All we want is just a simple apology, and if the waitress is nice, like in many other restaurants, will just offer a little extra pork chops for compensation. But instead, she is "surprised" and acted like how unbelievable this thing is, and then deny this truth like this is totally impossible. She even gave us a "little lecture" about how the chicken dishes and pork dishes are made differently in the kitchen... Apparently she might think we are arguing the chashu made from chicken, but it's obviously a serving mistake to mix the chicken in chashu instead of what she thought.
(She was nice initially, and served us well, so service won't be an issue for most people. And consideing the nice uncle at front register while ordering the food, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here and couldn't have been happier! I did take out however for the short time I spent in the establishment, I enjoyed the atmosphere. The interior is reminiscent of a modern Asian street food shop..very cool. The owners were very friendly and courteous offering me extra rice since I didn't get any veggies. The other employees were very nice as well with the exception of one girl that was working the veggies station. She wasn't rude at all but her face spoke 1000 words- she obviously wanted to be anywhere else but there. Looked like she was contemplating this to be her last shift or not..But I don't know, perhaps she had a terrible day but hope it gets better!
Anyways, the food was amazing and tasted like nothing else! The Chasu buns were delicious!! I wish they had offered a description on the menu as to what it was but I decided to try them from reading other reviews. They're basically a slightly sweet toasted "flatbread" made into a taco with some meat, cilantro, carrots, and cucumbers. Highly recommended! I also had the chasu pork with steamed white rice. Pork was perfectly cooked and the sauce was great! Would probably get some extra sauce on the side next time around.
This is an amazing find in Plano and I would hope they'll choose to expand more locations in the future! Thank you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery friendly establishment! Our first time to visit and found the place very warm and inviting with the lady who took our order answering all our questions and offering suggestions. You order at the counter and they will bring your food to table.
Hubby and I both decided on the Chasu Pork with low mein and various veggies and toppings plus the Chasu sauce. He got a Thai milk tea and I had the Lychee Raspberry lemonade. You can also order fountain drinks. For reference, our 2 bowls plus specialty drinks and tax came to $25.
Food cooked to perfection and a good sized portion.
Ladies bathroom was clean! Didn't check men's. Overall clean restaurant made dining a pleasant experience.
Things to know : +Drinks took a little bit but found out specialty drinks are prepared by the tea store next door. They are merging businesses soon so this shouldn't be problematic in the future.
+There is a self-serve area in the back to get napkins, silverware and I believe drinks(soft drinks, tea, etc).
+You can choose as many add ons as you like from the toppings and veggies.
+Check out the menu photos from other reviewers to read descriptions of each item.
+Price depends on your protein choice for "build your own bowls" (or you can select a pre - made...
