I did not want to write this review, but this is my only way to communicate with a warning to others. Since 2014/2015, the first time I went to this restaurant, I had gotten a bowl of tonkasu ramen. I really enjoyed the ramen so much that I often went to grab a bowl on my lunch break or for my dinner. I only specifically got the tonkasu because it was very flavorful, and the ambiance was enjoyable. However, after covid-19 happened, this restaurant was closed and wasn't open for a long time. In the recent 2 to 4 years, the restaurant seamed off and not a good environment or was closed for some reason of the prior times l went to this restaurant. What really bothered me is that when my fiance and I attempted to go in to eat before we could even take a seat we had a strong and gross oder of sewage smell that we couldn't stay we had to leave. However, tonight, unfortunately, will be my last time. Do not kid yourself of the food. I had gotten my usual ramen bowl, and tonight, it was gross. It was overly salty and bland and didn't have any good feelings. My fiance wanted a stir-fried meal but was told they ran out. The chicken kung pow rice bowl. There was NO flavor! Don't waste your money coming here. The person who took our order was very sour and unfriendly, seaming bothered that we even came to order. The other person who came in to grab a 3 party order was about to grab the online order, but was u able to read the name. The 3rd party customer came up to the other guy who was immediately aggressive or agitated about the 3rd party person coming to ask for help to make sure he was going to grab the right order. The guy who took our order didn't even come up to us once to make sure our food was good. If he did, I would have immediately and, unfortunately have said no about the food being anywhere near good and shouldn't have paid. Very and extremely disappointed As a long-term customer, I...
Read moreJust wanted to throw out that I've worked in the serving industry for years, so I'm extremely against leaving bad reviews but in this case, it's needed due to poor quality service and food.
We ordered two appetizers, potato croquettes and potstickers, which didn't arrive until AFTER our entrees. They were decent tasting, easily the best part of our meal.
My husband ordered a rice bowl value deal (comes with soup, salad and an orange) and I only ordered ONLY the Katsu rice bowl, to which the server looked like she had no idea of what I was talking about even after I showed her a picture on the menu. So she brought out 2 value meals, mine of which was the wrong order. Whatever, I left it alone. The rice was gummy in texture and overall dish lacked flavor.
I also ordered the spicy beef Ramen, the beef slices were basically little medallions of inedible mystery fat. Think quarter size. The Ramen itself was okay.
Then we ordered a bowl of fried rice for our daughter, to which we received a bowl of semi burnt fried rice. Our daughter tried a little and gagged. She stuck to her orange slices. Honestly, how is it possible to screw up fried rice?
As we sat waiting for our check and a to go box, our server sat across a table from us, texting on her phone while the cashier ate soup.
Needless to say, only my husband took his leftovers, which ended up...
Read moreWe have good background with many styles of Asian foods. Picked Sapporo off the internet with reviews. It is always a roll of the dice doing so...definitely a place we would go back to. First, the service was good and friendly better than most. We had ramen which was good / better than average and at very good prices (compared to CA / at $13 up for same size servings. My wife had a tempura udon...the tempura was served in a bowl separate from the udon soup. I generally never order udon...I tasted hers and found that it was very al dente...a very tasty suprixe. The fried tofu and pork belly was more than average...I have a good taste for pork belly and it exceeded my expectations. The table next to us asked about any special vegetables not on the menu. The owner came out with some for the customers to see...as we looked on, he also offered us a taste when it came out. We had paid our lunch...and the kitchen crew came out with a half serving of the vegetables...and asked if we wanted more rice. It was a special treat from the owner...who seems very proud of his food recipes. Oh yea, the dish would be a definitely "reorder". We will definitely return to try some of the...
