I’m posting this not just because this is the best hookah spot in town, but because, as an Egyptian customer, I strongly disagree with the review below by "Ammar Hashemi". The “Egyptian worker” he mentioned is Karim. I’ve known Karim since his Layali Miami days, and he has always been decent, professional, and respectful with everyone.
Over four years as a regular customer here, the record is consistent: solid hookah quality and very reasonable prices compared to other places. Prices and the service charge are clearly posted on the menu. I've come here frequently for the past four years and have never encountered anything like what's being alleged.
Nationality is not a review category. Calling someone “the Egyptian worker” is irrelevant and prejudicial. It turns a complaint about a bill into a swipe at identity. That wording not only violates Google’s review policies and basic decency, it also disrespects the regulars who come here.
If there's a genuine dispute about charges, the fair way is simple: cite the receipt line by line, explain what seems wrong, and let management address it. Facts live on receipts. Prejudice lives in phrasing.
Judge this place on actions and product, not on anyone's origin. In my experience, pricing is transparent, hookah quality is consistent, and staff address issues when asked directly. Bias is not feedback. Keep critiques to the itemized charges or keep them offline.
This lounge remains the best hookah spot in South Florida - if not the entire state - on the strength of Hookah, food, service, and straight-up...
Read moreAfter a hard grueling day, I went to Kan Zaman Lounge to drink a little wine and smoke a little hookah to take the edge off but I got way more than I bargained for. Before entering, I sat in my car for 10 mins crying my heart out and walked in with a poker-face as if everything was okay. I even ordered desert for the first time and I am supposed to be on a diet lol. When the manager Mohammed noticed me, he enchanted me with his hospitality, charisma and zealous personality and immediately brightened my day. Upon leaving, he asked why I was leaving so early but I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I couldn't even provide an answer so I laughed it off. He said a few jokes, thanked me for coming by, and gave me a hug. God knows how bad I needed that hug! As a business owner, I've learned that it is not always about how much you make but also about the lasting impact you make in people's lives....
Mohammed, the reason I left so early was because ,what you did tonight figuratively took me off the ledge and my cup overflows. I was no longer unhappy and felt I needed an outlet; YOU were the outlet! Thank you so much for exuding love (God) & passion in your work and making a significant difference in my life tonight. The entire staff is amazing and I am your loyal customer for life (as long as I don't have anything white on my...
Read moreI have been coming here for years, and I honestly do love the cafe. My issue is that while the hookah is some of the best in South Florida and the atmosphere is fantastic, the service is very upsetting. I consistently have to wait 35 minutes or more for a coal change. My last visit the wait was over an hour on a relatively slow night. When I try to get the attention of the staff, I am often seen and ignored, and when I walk up to the counter to see if I can get service, it still takes an unreasonable time to get the coal change I asked for. I've worked at busy lounges in the past, and have been to many others, so it I don't feel like I am unjustified in being irritated by this. KZ has been a core part of many memories in my life, and to feel this disregarded when I come here is disrespectful as a customer.
UPDATE** Came back here after a while to smoke, and it's beyond frustrating to see that nothing has changed. I waited 20 min before someone finally came to my table, and another 30 for my hookah to get here. Mind you, the lounge was not that busy, compared to what an actually busy hookah lounge looks like. It's insane that I can't even flag down an employee, and yet somehow they can justify adding an automatic...
