This will be the last time I ever order from this restaurant and I hope this review will encourage others to not support this business either. My main issue wasn't the fact that they cheated my exact same order for the 2nd time(the 1st time I truly believed was just an oversight but after 2x you realize it's intentional and their way of saving costs)My main issue is the condescending, rude, and interrupting poor excuse and failing miserably at his job manager named Ben. Ben does not know his own menu and wants to argue and rudely interrupt his customers when they complain that for the 2nd time their order is missing items. I ordered a 1st cut 9oz corned beef sandwich that clearly states in their online menu on their own website that it comes with a potato latke for the approximate price of just under $17. That is not a cheap sandwich. I also look forward to having the latke with it. Today I called and asked to speak to the manager(Ben) about why my order is once again missing the item it clearly states online that it comes with. He proceeds to argue with me as well as rudely interrupt , and proceeds to tell me that it gives me the option of 3 choices for my side and I didn't pick one so they just threw coleslaw in the container. Well that's simply not true and again Ben doesn't know his own online menu. Ben is correct about some of the sandwiches on their online menu & order form giving you the option to choose your side, but this particular sandwich does not. The only thing you can choose is the type of bread and whether you want 6oz or 9oz. It ALWAYS comes with a latke and does not offer you the option of a side choice. Now keep in mind this is set up like this on their own website and online ordering. I invite Ben to learn his online website order system so that next time he be more prepared in his knowledge before being condescending & rude to a customer that just paid $17 for a sandwich that is supporting his business that keeps him employed. I rarely would ever comment on this stuff but I work in this industry and have for over 20 years, and am very well aware of a business that appreciates and respects their customers and the ones that don't and are trying to pull one over on the customer as well as use short cuts to chop down their food cost by cheating the customers. Btw there wasn't even 1 packet of mustard in the bag, nor a napkin or utensil. Again I work in this industry so I understand not over doing the condiments, napkins, utensils etc because it can be wasteful and costly to a business especially right now with the pandemic, BUT at least give the customer 1 of each. I also have to say that the quality of corned beef has declined since I first started coming here. The meat had absolutely no flavor which is not normal for corned beef. It's a shame to see a business that used to be very good has allowed their quality of food and management go completely down hill. It's those things that put places out of business. There are too many other delis & restaurants around to not treat customers with consideration and respect. This business is essentially stealing from their own clientele & cheating then to save money internally. Oh yeah I almost forgot the best part. At the end of my conversation Ben tells me next time I order online that I need to call the restaurant and tell them to put the latke in the order.đłđ€Ł Ok so now I need to call the restaurant and tell them what their job is and how to do it. This kind of defeats the purpose of placing an online order doesn't it? Isn't that your job Ben? To learn your own menu and what comes with what as well as train your staff to know that? Your team is only as good as your management so that speaks volumes about why I'm missing items for the 2nd time. Well it's never going to happen Ben, because I will never order from you again. I will also be sharing this review on other sites, my social media, and telling as many people as possible. Hopefully next time Ben might be a little more respectful of...
Read moreNormally, I just only buy the bagels and the smears that go with it. If you're lucky enough to get the good bagels in time. After a certain point in the morning, the options are iffy. It's a timing thing. It's usually busy, but the good stuff only lasts if you can come early enough.
I never really sat down to eat, however, but I've been on the hunt for a good breakfast. Rob's big breakfast is what seems like the main option as a breakfast platter. I know this place is known for their Ruben sandwiches and bagels to go, but this is a breakfast place, and it should have a good breakfast.
This was not it.
Systematically, the whole thing screamed mediocrity...
My eggs were supposed to be country scrambled (scrambled in the pan), but this was traditional scrambled (prewhisked with cream). It had no seasoning whatsoever.
I know there's salt and pepper on the table, but I can guess why they didn't add any at first because the bacon was super salty. It had this weird appearance that made it look raw with the lack of color, but it was rigid and oddly crispy despite its look. It was greasy, but had that air fryer texture to it.
The sausages were sad. Small, dry, and slightly overcooked with no snap at all.
The ham looked like it was taken out of some prepackaged deli slices they sell as lunch meat. It had a peculiar chewiness to it that made me wonder why? One or two slices of Canadian ham would have been a better alternative to this Lunchables meat.
The oatmeal was alright, but it was practically nuclear as it scorched the crap out of my mouth.
They sent my cinnamon raisen bagel to hell. Must have forgotten it in the toaster or something because it came back from the beach with a sunburn. God damn, this was burnt. The raisins were about to become ashes. No mercy was given.
The waitress never checked up on me.
The guy refilling coffee skipped me multiple times, and I didnât get refilled at all until after I asked for a check. The refill was also stale.
As the kids say, this meal was pretty mid.
For the entire price of coffee and breakfast, it came out to 24 bucks. With inflation, these are typical prices for the majority of breakfast places, but this is not worth me dining in for.
Which is sad, because I know this place could be better. Or maybe it's better for certain clientele. I'm not making any kind of claims, but this place seems to be particularly better for a few demographics of people that I won't slander. I would rather be wrong on this, but it is what it is. đ€·
My advice? Come in really early for the bagels, or if you come in late, then try their...
Read moreI usually don't engage in such writings of reviews but this must be shared. My hubby and i went in today for brunch. i ordered a Greek salad with bagel chips minus the onion and he ordered a chicken salad with Swiss cheese on a bagel. (I'm writing this so the owner knows full well where this review came from).
Our food arrived, mine with onion his without cheese. No problem, waitress took the salad to remove them. (This is when the no cheese was discovered). The salad arrived again, very disorganized. I had a suspicion that it was the very same salad "pawed" over to remove the onion and it was. There were bits of missed onion throughout it. At this point my husband called over the waitresses showed her the onion. She stated "The owner made this salad" and asked if i would like something to replace it, I stated no thank you. This burnt me up. I had it removed from the table and off the bill. My hubby reluctant finished his lunch on my insistence.
Now, I understand food costs are high. Don't offer it on your menu. When a person does not eat onion, they especially do not eat red onion! I went to go pull off the onion when it arrived the first time but there were not only rings of onion, there were diced pieces throughout the salad.
As an owner, this situation should have never happened. I own a business and customers ARE #1... without customers we would not be in business...especially a restaurant. The mere fact that THE OWNER PAWED THROUGH MY SALAD TO REMOVE ONION and send it back out to me, lacked humility and was appalling. We have been going here for a few years and you have now really put your food costs higher because you have lost two...
