Casper's my whole life. That place has been there since I was a kid. I stopped in because I couldn't believe it was still there. Can't say that I had a great experience oh and the hot dogs don't seem like they're the same either. What a bummer. But still probably the best hot dogs around I should get one or more star probably. It has great hot dogs still. I don't think they're the same as they used to be but they're still pretty good. The service is what I had a problem with people behind the counter. I was short a dime happened to have Dallas on the couch I had and I went out and had to grab pennies from inside my center console. Which is hard for me to get and when I went back in to give them their dime. They had already put my hot dog away like I wasn't going to pay the rest and had left my money on the top I was really annoyed by this from the way they acted like I was trying to get over on a dime that was really embarrassing for me. And I was embarrassed for them. I hope they do better in the future maybe I'll redo this review if I go back. And I'm sure I will someday I always end up being there once in a great . Once in a while when I see it's still there. And it always is so far. I would say it's like a landmark for a Pleasant Hill. I was hoping to give a good review. They could make it a little nicer to inside it's still the same as it was 40 years ago which was...
Read moreBest in taste and no other hot dog can beat that snap. This brick and motar still looks the same like it did in the 90's but now the booths and seating look and feel tiny compared to when I use to bring the kids here when they were school- aged.
Fast casual/take and go. Like the simplicity of the menu, just dogs and packaged chips since there is no fryer or grill. The hot dogs are steaming hot. The condiments and toppings are put on for you by the sweet and friendly ladies who have been working there 20+ years!
So sad to hear that Hayward location last day is today (7/13/2024) Appreciate this place even more now even if there is a bit of a wait in line. The staff are efficient and work quickly though.
This place met my nostalgic feelings and I am so happy Caspers Hot Dogs still remains top dog in my book! At nearly $10 for a combo here, can y'all bring it...
Read moreCasper's hotdogs are legendary, I've seen people complain that they can get a hot dog cheaper at Costco, and although that may be true that is like buying sushi at a gas station. Casper dogs are seasoned like a sausage, they have that amazing snap when you bite in. Steamed with a steamed bun and you're halfway to victory. Fresh toppings as you like and it's perfection...... have you ever noticed that no matter what time of year you go they always make sure to provide the best tomatoes available? I have never seen such consistency in my life. The ladies who make them are what puts the shine on it's fifth star, and that's saying a lot because I've seen some of the lulu's that walk in and as my grandmother would say " they are enough to drive a wooden man nuts" If you stop in say hi to the woman with short hair, her name is Sally but she likes to be called...
