My mom and I visited Daldal on a intensely warm Saturday afternoon. At first, my mom and I were initally thrilled to see and experience a Korean convenience store atmosphere in Pleasant Hill. She ordered a Mango Bingsoo to go. I simply opted for a pouched mango ade with a cup of ice from the convenience store section. Frankly, the ice cup is subpar because the ade does not fill up all the way and the cup is too tall.

While there's enough seating inside and outside of the premises, it can get too crowded since the partitions between tables are narrow. The concept seems off since instant ramen and bingsoo are oxymorons in Korean food. They don't co-exist in the same space in South Korea and in Koreatown LA.

I must be firm and honest that we were truly displeased with one of your staff's lack of professionalism and customer service skills. While we were unable obtain their names (since they were not wearing name tags), there were two young women in their late teens/early twenties: one presumably of East Indian descent, while the other appears to be Southeast Asian or Filipino descent.

The cashier (of East Indian descent) was slightly better skilled in terms of taking orders and clearly marked my mom's order to go. My mom and I were very displeased with the other staff (of SE Asian/Filipino descent) because she placed my mom's order on a dine-in bowl when my mom said it's for to-go. She irritably said, "oh our orders are only for here." My mom politely responded, "well I cannot stay because I have to go." Your staff complained and irritably said "oh it's gonna melt" and at first refused to solve the situation.

The staff appeared to be confused and not willing to solve the mishap. My mom had to suggest to place her order of mango bingsoo on a paper bowl (originally intended for ramen). The mango bingsoo was placed on the ramen paper bowl, but she did not even apologize to my mom. We even had to ask for another paper bowl to serve as a de facto cover. Does Daldal even offer plastic/compostable bowls containers with proper covers?

As a former supervisor at a restaurant, I immediately observed that the staff did not provide proper customer service and problem solving skills. This may affect your business' reputation and she and other staff at Daldal must take this as a learning opportunity, to serve customers more professionally and become a more enhanced problem solver. I could've asked to speak with the manager and/or owner on duty at the time, but we had to go. I initially conveyed my crucial feedback via DM, but have not yet received a response. Based on our first experience, my mom and I feel reluctant to return to Daldal. Perhaps, we might give your store another chance once your staff gets retrained with improved customer service and problem...

Honestly, the 3 star rating is due to the bingsoo, which is the saving grace for this place. If it wasn’t for the bingsoo, this place would deserve just a single star. Upon entering the establishment, it was underwhelming and I feel like this place was definitely hyped up for no reason. Customer service was lacking, they were hiding out in the back the entire time and it was a bit confusing on how to start the process of ordering. Apparently you just grab a tray first and then your choice of ramen and toppings and then pay at the register prior to making the ramen. Thankfully I’m pretty familiar with the drinks in the pouches, but for those who are new to the experience, it was a bit confusing that the cups of ice in the freezer wete for the pouched drinks. There was also no pricing on their frozen items and I ended up paying over $20 for one pack of 3 bimbap, the same goes for the drinks and snacks. They also don’t give you receipts either which was annoying. If I return, it’ll be just for the bingsoo, which is the only thing worth paying for. There’s also no plates or utensil for the microwaveable foods. I had to eat my overpriced bimbap on a...

We went tonight, me and my daughter, trying to get the mango bingsoo, they told us the mango is kind of sour,so we changed to honey dew one.First of all,we waited long time, but they were busy,so we understood. Was so hot inside.I felt like I had to go outside to take a breath, but outside there were people smoking from the bar next door .Anyway, our bingsoo was ready, we took couple of bites and it was tasteless, the fruit had no taste at all ,the whole thing,a failure. We went and told them that it isnt good and maybe we should have the strawberry one, they said "well,it wont be better because we do not have condense milk, we ran out'.so I am thinking, shouldn't they have told us before paying almost $20 ,including the tip? ...so , I said ,"then can you plz give us a refund?" She declined. I just left the bingsoo on the table and left ..disappointed..I drove 20 min to get there and 20 min back to home..It is easy to lose costumers when you have no idea about business and...

Heard about this new place and wanted to check it out. It's an interesting concept to choose your own ramen and add your desired toppings. Didn't try the deserts but they look really good. Opted into a ramen for lunch. They have a very wide selection of brands and flavors to choose from! I went with a Rosé Buldak as it was a flavor I hadn't tried before. How you go about cooking & adding toppings was a bit unclear, I had to ask how the process worked, as did someone who came in after me. But the worker was friendly and talked me though it. Basically choose your ramen flavor/brand, choose your toppings, pay, then she cooked it and mixed it all together for me. Price isn't too bad, which is good as your essentially paying for the make at home style ramen. They sell korean soft drinks in different flavors as well as other snacks and even a selection of Stanley Cups and other reusable water bottles. I'd come here again with my kids to try the deserts.
