Came here on Tuesday for lunch with a friend. It was nice and slow midweek so we were able to sit where we wanted. I ordered Gyoza as an app, my friend ordered Croquettes as an app, my son ordered takoyaki as his meal because he's not big on ramen as a meal. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and my friend ordered the vegetarian ramen. The gyoza came out first and was impressive. Whatever they fried it in, came all connected when they brought it to the table so it looked interesting. The flavor was great too. My ramen came out after a bit and I gave away some of my toppings but everything tasted great! I ended up drinking most of my broth too. We had also ordered sodas so our total for everything was $69.69 (nice) before tip. I would definitely come back for the ramen, it was decently priced and delicious. The gyoza is just a little more than I would've preferred in price, but it was still good so I'd probably get it again. My son really enjoyed the takoyaki as well. All in all, it was a great experience. And it was nice to be able to go inside and eat to avoid the heat. Maybe next time I'll go when it's not over...
Read moreAfter a long trip from Manila to San Francisco, we stopped by Haya Ramen to satisfy my 6-year-old niece’s craving for ramen.
The food? Well, it wasn’t bad—but coming from the amazing Japanese restaurants back home in the Philippines and the authentic spots in Japan, this just didn’t cut it for me.
Tempura – Crispy, yes, but it lacked that light, airy crunch I’ve come to expect. The dipping sauce didn’t do much to enhance the experience either.
Gyoza – Golden and perfectly fried, but the flavor fell flat. They were fine, but not memorable.
Takoyaki – Generously topped with bonito flakes, but the filling was a bit too doughy for my taste.
The ramen itself looked good, but the taste left much to be desired. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t hit the high notes I was hoping for. I think after being spoiled by the quality of Japanese food back home, this just didn’t quite match up to those standards.
Overall, it was an okay meal, but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for a ramen place that delivers the punch we were hoping for after a...
Read moreI feel like for a place with ramen in their name, they should have more than 5 options that are all almost identical, no other meat options aside from pork. When we got here, the lady serving us was very quick to just get inpatient when trying to take our order and was sort of grumpy. At least food came out quick though. But the food itself wasnt even really that good in particular, it reeked of stale oil and tasted slightly burnt at times some how. The egg in my ramen was also very cold in the middle. But also, im concerned for the cleanliness of this place because the soy sauce bottle at the table seems to have no been cleaned in a while, it was very greasy and had some questionable crust in some spots... Can see the photo below for that. So yah I will definitely not be coming back here again, really not much to...
