Let me tell you, this restaurant had me feeling like I just stepped into New Orleans! Pure perfection from start to finish! The food? The world Incredible doesn’t even begin to cover it. We're talking authentic Creole cuisine, the kind that had me reminiscing about being in my late grandmother's kitchen, hitting that sweet spot in my soul. Every bite was an experience. I mean, those hush puppies? Fire. The seafood platter? Let's just say, it's my new obsession. And the bread pudding? Absolute bliss. You could taste the love and culture in every dish, knowing these were family recipes passed down like priceless heirlooms. It’s so rare to find that level of authenticity in every bite. Oh, and the vibes? Immaculate. From the music to the warm, inviting atmosphere, this place knows how to set the scene. Perfect spot for family, friends, couples, or a solo treat because when the food is this good, sometimes you just need that “me” time. Trust me, I'll be back! — Quania Jones

Nice ambience. The prints reminds me of NOLA. The food was okay. I had the po boy oyster sandwich, Brussels sprouts, red beans and rice, and shared an order of beignets. For the best southern food, go to New Orleans and be sure to try the freshly fried beignets from Cafe du Monde, the original location, the one in the French Quarter. I appreciate that this restaurant is trying but I would definitely switch out the rice used in the red beans and rice. Something about the rice was off. It seemed more like Asian rice, but can’t pinpoint it. The hurricane was more like a Slurpee. Again, they are making an effort. The bread was so soft and fresh - loved - and was great for the sandwich. I will definitively try this restaurant again. It is located in a great area of Pleasant Hill and there is plenty of seating both in and outdoors. This is sister restaurant to the one in Castro Valley and food truck in San Francisco.

In a word, "Disappointing". Having been to New Orleans fairly recently, I was excited to try this place. We did takeout since it was the Art & Wine festival downtown, and I know takeout is never as good. That all being said, we ordered a Shrimp Poboy, Blackened Shrimp Poboy, side of cajun fries, and an appetizer of Brussels sprouts. The sandwiches were decent. The shrimp was well cooked, which was good, but otherwise they weren't super exciting or even super flavorful. Each sandwich was extra 6 shrimp. And ... that's where the good news ends. We didn't get our brussels at all, so I'd recommend you triple check everything in your order before walking out. Also the fries were... sad. They looked like they came out of a bag and were about as "cajun" as a hipster barista Portland. To be clear, I've had more spicy fries from McDonalds. I'll probably try it again. But it was disappointing.

Stopped by last weekend to try the beignets and was not disappointed. They were delicious! Enough for three people really. I only had one and took the rest to go. Also ordered a side order of green beans that was delicious! Very much worth the trip over. I was a little surprised they were out of coffee. And I was very surprised when I ordered iced-tea that they were out of sugar. If they're not going to wait on people at their table, they need to provide trays for people that are eating there, so they can carry their food and drink with them. Also, I understand it might not make sense to brew a fresh pot of coffee each hour if they don't have enough people ordering that to make it worthwhile. They might think about getting a single-serve machine for tea/coffee for odd customers like me. It doesn't have to be the best coffee in town. Also, they might have some sugar or stevia packs available for people who drink iced-tea. I don't think there's a lot of people that drink iced-tea unsweetened. Other than that though, it was a...

I was craving some seafood and decided to try here the other week. I ordered the shrimp and grits w side gumbo, crab fries , hush puppies and brussel sprouts. Oh and catfish poboy just cause... Yes I planned on left overs lol The shrimp and grits... is everything! Get it! Like fr, it's Flavor town! The side gumbo wasn't on the same level. Maybe I should've washed my palette, idk, just wasnt a flavorful broth.

I was put back by the smell of my crab fries tho. They were fishy, which really isn't a good sign. But me being hungry ,I ate some. They were seasoned well but I couldn't finish. The brussel sprouts seemed a little burnt on the outside but the maple glaze overpowered and made them good overall. The hushpuppies saved the entire meal and made it worth the $. I mean, mouthwatering crunchy outside yet fluffy inside. Plus the homemade sauce is fire. Oh, I never got to the poboy 🤦🏽‍♀️

Get the shrimp and grits plus hush puppies tho and your day will be made. Ok bye , I'm going...
