I came here on a Saturday night and its my first time here (around 8pm).
Overall, the inside is pretty small (just counter to order food at), they didn't have much parking. There is no bathroom and just 1 porta John to go to.
Once you order, you go out to the back where basically there are a few picnic tables and umbrellas where you need to hope there is an opening. Your basically in the pitch dark and there aren't any lights. Everyone around me had to turn on the camera flashlight on their phone to see the menu. Seriously, I was eating in the pitch black. I hope they consider maybe adding 1-2 extra lights or maybe at the least a lantern at each table would be nice.
I will say the food was really good (got the tacos, pulled pork sandwich, and summer night pizza was delicious). We got a half growler of their signature and it was really tasty as well. I just wish I gotten atleast a paper plate to share the pizza - it made things a bit tricky.
I liked the music act as well which was nice, and they had a console set up.
I just overall hated the atmosphere, so im unsure I would come again, but it was nice to come on a fall night. Im not sure what they will do come the winter since its entirely outdoors (they do have takeout).
** Edit to add: I understand they are takeout only, but my point still is they can still invest a bit into the outside in the event customers stay to eat outside. Obviously you can't add a bathroom..but the extra few lights at the very least should happen. I couldn't see the cornhole game or music act due to...
Read moreOur part of town has been waiting for a unique spot like this to open. This place gives me the feels...it feels good to support Truss knowing the owner is member of our local community. It feels good knowing we are supporting a local small family owned business. It feels good when you walk into the store and the staff is friendly, the air is warm with flavor, and the shelves of 'extras' are stocked with locally made, small batch brands of condiments and other household flavor necessities. Most of all, it feels good to order anything off of their homemade, wood fired menu that pleases all of your taste buds at once! We haven't tried everything yet, but we soon will....and finally it definitely feels good drinking a beverage that is brewed literally in the neighborhood we live! Right up the road, the beer is literally made right inside their location; take up a growler and re-fill, limit waste and packaging and trucking and shipping and all that other junk that does nothing postive for our community. Their menu is unique, their beer is locally brewed, and Truss Brewing themselves makes a noted effort to support other local small businesses...full circle! We love this new spot and look forward to enjoying their unique flair of food and beer for years to come!! - Sincerely, A Pleasant...
Read moreI went back and forth on if this should be a 4 or a 5 star. Let's start with the pros. The staff and assuming owners were very friendly and chatty and recommend beers based on the style we liked. The beers were very good. There wasn't any I didn't like and 3 I found to be exceptional. The food was top notch as well. The cons are more around atmosphere. This place is geared more toward takeout so as long as you keep that in mind you shouldn't be disappointed. The seating there is all outdoor. They need more lighting for when it gets dark and cover in the back area would be good for when it rains. There are no restrooms, just a porta potty. These are minor if you plan your day correctly. They only serve half and full growler, no glasses or flights. Again not the worst since most people can split it or typically drink more than one beer. The only thing that actually annoyed me is they closed early before their scheduled time. I'm chalking this up to happenstance and thus...
