We (My husband and I) just got into town last night and found this restaurant on Google. We always try to support local establishments! The menu and photos of the food looked absolutely delicious! So, we went in and was met by a very sweet lady and gentlemen with beautiful gracious smiles! We ask what was the most popular items were and she said,"Definitely she highly recommended the Cuban Sandwich!" My husband ordered that and I ordered the Pork Street Tacos! We also ordered Homemade Chips & Quacomole!! We sat down at one of the two tables because we knew we both needed elbow room for the AMAZING smelling food that came waffling from behind the counter!! Shortly afterwards, the sweet man brought us our chips & Quacomole W/A side of homemade Salsa out!! Omgoodness! A FREAKING MAZING!!! After we sat silently eating our scrumptious snack awaiting our food; the gentleman ask ," if we we're doing ok!" My husband replied, "Yes sir! We're just enjoying the chips and Quacomole!" A few minutes later, he brings our food out and presents it to us and OMGOODNESS!! These two beautiful HEAVENLY meals smelled and looked like everything we could have asked for!! We were BOTH very anxious to dive in and was definitely NOT disappointed!! The taste was nothing short of HEAVENLY!! We neither one had ever tried a Cuban Sandwich before so, we BOTH fell in love this magnificent masterpiece of Culinary Latin Cuisine!! The street Tacos did not disappoint either!! The sweet gentleman ask us if we liked "Breakfast Burritos " We replied," Of course"! He proceeded to bag us up four of his breakfast Burritos and gave them to us for free! He even gave us a exquisite tasting of his brisket! We have traveled throughout the United States for years and this restaurant and it's (we assume) owners are some of the most sweetest and beautiful people we have ever had the honor of meeting! WE WILL BE BACK!! Thank you so very much for everything!! This IS NOW one of FAVORITE restaurants!! Sincerely,...
Read moreBob, you are a rockstar. Your jokes are bad and your food is spectacular. Don't ever change.
So I found this place the other day after being turned away from Barrio (down the street) bc I didn't have a reservation for lunch (ridiculous, it was an empty restaurant).
Now that I'm writing this, I should really thank Barrio for the rejection because now I have a new favorite spot.
Beyond Borders is amazing!
You know you're in for a treat as soon as you see the place, it has all the hallmarks of a hidden gem. Tiny, located in a plaza, no frills displayed.
Suspicions are validated immediately when walking through the door and you are greeted by not only the staff but by the mouthwatering smells that light up all the happy hungry spots in your brain.
I went for three tacos, street style, along with rice and black beans (the super lunch special). They offer shredded beef brisket, ground beef, shredded pork, and shredded chicken. My favorite was the pork but all were delicious, I should add that these are around twice the size of the street tacos I'm used to so I ended up with some leftovers (no complaints).
The food alone will bring me back indefinitely but what impressed me most was Bob's (owner) friendliness, hospitality, and commitment to providing the best tacos in the area.
While eating he chatted with me about how he got started and, although it's not my place to tell his life story, I will say that despite some significant setbacks he persisted and I feel the community is better off because of it.
Bob, thank you for the great meal, the great conversation, and for sticking with it. I'll be back and I'm...
Read moreThe owner Bob is creating a mess of scamming if you use CC. I called my order ahead, and arrived a few minutes later to pick it. Bob, said he is using a new system and told one of his workers to write down my credit card number to charge me later. I replied that I would never leave my credit card number with strangers that I never met. I told bob and his staff that I could wait until the new payment system was operating but only for a few minutes because I was passing thru. After they saw me rummaging thru my purse for cash, all of a sudden the old machine magically began working. I used my Cc to make the transaction, and selected receipt sent to text, because I knew something was up. What spark my suspicion for the scam was the first warning to write down my credit card #, and secondly Bob asked me where Im from; simply implying 1. That im not from here and 2. What could possibly be my zip code to use my Cc later.
I politely gave $5 tips in hopes that it goes to the cute burrito maker, because he was the only one with a sense of intelligence in the operation. He said that he didnt blame me after I refused to write down my credit card number for later billing.
I can only imagine the vulnerability of people who actually write down their financial info and be taken advantage of.
Now I have to send the same message to the BBB of Plymouth to investigate the ill practices of fraud.
The burrito was delicious, but the service for stealing my CC left a sour taste in my mouth....
