This place doesn't even deserve one star. We are on vacation in poconos and we have a save around coupon book we bought it during our nephews fundraisers, it is just like an entertainment book you buy full of coupons, this place happen to be listed in our book, so we decided to try it out. Coupon was buy one pasta dish with a side get one pasta dish free. We called first spoke to young lady who said yes we take that coupon, then when we arrived she was our waitress n we asked her again n showed her the coupon she once again confirmed they would take it. Our waitress was simple-minded as ever, asked us multiple times about what we wanted to drink... water n ice tea not that complicated. Then took our order which was olive oil and garlic with shrimp and side sausage. Then i ordered chicken Alfredo with side salad. She asked grilled or breaded i said grilled. She puts our order in comes back in while says do u want ur salad with ur dinner, i said no id like bread n salad now please, so she returns with salad n bread. Not to b a btch but most people get salad n bread before their dinner anyhow, she brings my dish it was a decent portion but chicken is breaded n food isn't hot, noodles taste old r stuck together, n my boyfriend hadnt gotten his yet. N there was one other table there, they were not busy at all, so no excuses. The manager or owner who ever he was walks over whats issue kinda ignorant to be honest i start to explain he cuts me off n says u try u dont like let me know, so i didnt wanna be a btch because i could tell he was gunna be a hot head. So took few bites then boxed up cuz i didnt care for it, the breading on the chicken tasted sweet kinda plus i always get alfredo with grilled chicken which is what i ordered. Now my boyfriend finally gets his dish, plate is cold, pasta tastes old n is stuck together, shrimp lil warm on outside cold inside n he never got the side of sausage at all, they never made it. Hungry as he was he ate it. So we go to register to pay, the manager/owner who talk to us earlier immediately had little attiude, n was rude, because he knew they messed up not once but in multiple ways. I was honest sorry we won't be back not good experience n u didnt offer to fix ur screw ups. Well waitress offered to discount food i said we have coupon but if i wanna do that go for it... but of course they did not. We get rung up n i ask why so high n manager/owner immediately jumps in all ignorant with attitude, nasty man seriously, breaks it down n i said thats incorrect n i show him coupon n what it says... he refused to honor coupon n argued raising his voice which there now was other customers in the place, telling us we would pay full bill n he would not honor coupon at all, he didnt have to. I said i won't pay the full bill n i will never come back he said ur lil bit of business won't hurt me im not gunna cry over it n i know how people like u are... u people want everything for free... i said no i just want u to honor ur coupon that we checked with our waitress twice about u honoring it and she confirmed it. Thats not my fault. I said this is ridiculous there's like 4 of u arguing with us instead of just honorin what the coupon said... the manager/owner said ive been in business for 40 years im not worried about ur few dollars n rings me up again only taking $5/6.00 off i said again thats not correct $12.00 should come off n we never got sausage either then he started to increase price of side salad from $2.50 to $5 because he said with my meal being discounted my sides added on for 2.50 are now full price, trying to male back the discounted amount. Lmao never in my life have i ever experienced anything like this... after this went on for 15/20 minutes they finally billed us correctly n we stilled tipped waitress 20% even though she wasnt worth that. Needless to say we will never return there. Their customer service is lacking and our pasta dishes were disappointing n then the coupon issue... i read reviews said seem like decent place... we definitely did not have...
Read moreHoly Stromboli! Staying at great wolf lodge and was running kinda late for dinner. This was the only restaurant open in the area, and was about to close. (Under a 10 min drive) we called and explained to them that we were 8 adults and 7 kids (4 families). With out hesitation the owner told us if we were there before 9:30 we will be seated, and we were! We come from NYC, where we eat pizza, and it's where some of the worlds best pizza is made. Therefore whenever I leave nyc I'm not aiming for pizza for dinner. But being that this was the only place open and great reviews, I said "what the heck, let's do it" when we got there we were greeted and seated and automatically felt at home. Again ignorantly in thinking I'm gonna get mediocre pizza, but boy was I wrong. Follow me here: First we had as an appetizer, large mild wings with hot sauce on the side (amazing crisp!) Fresh large garlic Knott's (amazingly fresh and soft and warm and fresh, did I say fresh?) Unfortunately they were running low on the calamari and only had enough for 1 large order. I must admit this was one of the best calamaris we've had, We couldn't get enough. We also had fresh mozzarella sticks and a large pepperoni pie (u can't have good pizza or mozzarella sticks unless u have good cheese, no way, no how! (expensive, but worth it) the pizza was literally on a new York pizza level and I wouldn't just say that. For our entree we had Stromboli (omg is all im gong to say) 2 more orders of wings (they were that good) fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken, spaghetti in olive oil and grilled chicken, 3 adult orders of chicken fingers and fries for 7 kids (yea it's big portions) 6 pitchers of refreshments. I'm sure I'm missing some things. When the bill came, our jaws dropped. All this food all this hospitality for all under $125.00 We were all so grateful and in disbelief. Still at $50 per family, the owner comes to me and says "I think you made a mistake, you gave me too much money" (great, honest man) Def would love to dine at "Amici's pizza & Pasta" again. All around great restaurant. Thanks for your hospitality. Hate that we dove straight into the food and didn't take a single pic. Did i mention how fresh the...
Read moreWe ordered the tuna hogies, and they were fantastic! Also, the bread used to make the hoagie was soft and had the right texture and flavor. In other words, they tasted fresh. They were filled as expected. ( no skimping ) We decided to eat in the restaurant and observed the staff and owner interact with other customers. Not only was the staff friendly to us, but everyone that came into this place was treated with kindness and respect. If we are in the area again, we will be stopping in for another sit down meal. We also ordered the sampler appetizer. That was also very good. The place was very clean and comfortable. We picked this place because we saw online that they had tuna hogies on the menu.
Update. We were in the area yesterday, so we stopped in for 2 more tuna hogies. We ate in the restaurant. I think they spread 1 can between a large and regular hoagie. It was just a little more than the bread being wet with tuna and mayo. They also forgot the cheese on mine. My tomatoes were nothing more than scraps cut in odd shapes. The lettuce was also cut oddly and included the base of the leaf at the stalk. We were also the first ones seated and the last to get our food. They made pizzas faster than making one can of tuna. The left front table and the center front table was used for overstock items including soft delivery pizza containers, extra beverages stored at and next to the customer's foot traffic level. Paper plates, boxes of food that can be contaminated by customer sneezing and coughing. The floor was dirty and the place is definitely not how it was on our first visit At least for us, we have other options. We will never darken their doorway again. In short, it was...
