Hello my Foodies! Sorry I have not been out and about to share my joy of dining out lately. However, I was able to get away from work and go out antiquing to Point Pleasant NJ. As usual, we had to find a spot in the area to eat! We found this place and decided to check it out. My friends are lovers of BBQ, so we had to see what this place had to offer. I myself am not the biggest fan of BBQ, but I was a good sport this day. I don't hate it, but it's not my first choice for food flavors, I guess. However, the food was pretty good. My friends loved the BBQ ribs, and the sauce was ok. I had the corned beef sandwich, which was pretty good. There was a parking lot associated with this restaurant and a few others in the same area. We were served chips and salsa to start. They had homemade lemonade and tea along with your usual soda options. The server was very nice and welcoming. My friend loved it enough to suggest we return just for the ribs. The platter he bought was about 30 dollars, but it was a good serving size and enough to take leftovers home. You do get two sides with those bigger orders and cornbread. Overall, I would go back to try some other items on the menu. We went on a Sunday, so it was pretty quiet. No wait time at all. If you are in the area, stop by and...

Have your heard of a great BBQ restaurant doing Breakfast? Well don't hesitate enjoying a gourmet and beyond delicious breakfast at JSBBQ Point Pleasant Beach. When the Owner Douglas Walsh and his Team dedicate so much time to cooking and serving top level meat their breakfast followed the very same dedication. It was even great to see all their Breakfast Sandwiches are served on freshly baked bread from Joe Leone's Italian Specialties. I even saw Joe there and I think he jist was dropping off some more freshly baked bread!
To start we had their Beignets (first time for Johnny) which were so fresh and very similar to Zeppoles bit more of a structured texture, they were so good we almost ordered a 2nd batch! I had to have the Dougie's Pork Roll Egg & Cheese and the Taylor Ham oops I mean Pork Roll was Smoked! One of my Daughters had the Cheese Omlette which was cooked to perfection but we all had to taste the JSBBQ Potatoes which were cooked in such a savory way and sauteeed perfectly in onions. My other Daughter went with the "Bay Ridge" Bacon, Eggs and American Cheese and loved. My Wife loved the JSBBQ "Brekkie" Taco with Brisket which was Smoked to perfection! We all shared some top of the line Cured Bacon which was crispy and soft too again cooked to perfection. We loved everything so much, even the fresh OJ and Coffee (Chickory and Cinnamin Flavored) and will definitely be going back.

Read moreWe heard about JSBBQ on the food channel, owner Doug Walsh learned to cook bbq in Texas, so I perked up when I heard about it early November. And since we're just 3 hours away decided to make the trip. Admittedly. I'm a brisket snob, having never had a better bbq then when I was in TX, despite years of searching. Two weeks after the episode aired, we arrived on a Sunday night, and Doug was manning the smoker, as I expect he always does. Doug is a personable pitmaster by nature, but he was incredibly humbled by our trip for his food. And when it comes to food, JSBBQ and Doug Walsh do not disappoint. Doug has a colorful history in the biz, and you can read about that on your own time. Just know, when it comes to bbq meats, this man is the boss. I had beef brisket, chopped brisket, and bbq turkey. The brisket is right out of TX. Beautiful bark, pale smoke ring and tender and juicy. The chopped brisket has more of the fat cap and is melt in your mouth tender, and the turkey is thick sliced breast with just enough smoke. My wife had the traditional gobbler with the same bbq turkey, house made stuffing, and cranberry sauce in a sandwich. Literally, Thanksgiving on toasted bread. I was lucky enough to get a slice of smoked corned beef (!) that Doug makes a reuben with. Next time, Doug! They offer pizza and an array of sandwiches and meat, have their own label soda, and they do catering. If you're any where near, (or not near, in my case) Point Pleasant, NJ, do not miss...
