We ordered their Egg White (custom ordered) Home Grown Omelette (no cheese) and their Hobo Skillet. It's not on their menu, but you can ask for your egg dishes to be substituted with egg whites instead. I ordered mine with home skillet potatoes and no toast while the boyfriend ordered his skillet with hash browns and sourdough.
The portions were definitely generous! Very filling size as our food came out in under 10 minutes. Only unfortunate note was that I had ordered with no cheese, but they gave me cheese on my egg white omelette anyways. Good thing was that the cheese was taken off really easily in one big scoop and it just came right off. I loved that the omelette was filled with onion, bell pepper, mushroom, and tomatoes with some of it diced and garnished on top giving it a wonderful flavor. Their egg whites weren't overcooked and had a beautiful fluffy texture. I mostly loved that their skillet potatoes were actually cooked via a pan/skillet rather than deep fried which is getting pretty trendy (but I hate). The outside was lightly brown and crisp with a soft potato center rather than having an over crispy little cut cubes of potatoes like places that deep fry theirs. Now, the Hobo Skillet, it was filled with ham, bacon, sausage, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, tomato, Ortega chile and cheese. The boyfriend thought it was a wonderful dish that left him very full and satisfied.
The entire atmosphere felt very homey and cozy compared to Denny's, staff had wonderful attitude and personalities making the place very welcoming. The insides were warm and comfortable like we had walked inside a house rather than a diner. We concluded that we actually preferred Corky's over Denny's now that I know we live...
Read moreFood ok, service random. My Wife and I went to eat on a date night. We were escorted to a table. Then a waitress came and took our order. The clam chowder and coffee arrived quickly. Soup was lukewarm but was ok in taste. I had also ordered a dinner salad to eat before the entree. It did not arrive until after the entree. It was tasty and generous salad portion. The Salmon was hot and fresh, the baked potato was hot and fresh, the vegetables were well seasoned. My Wife's fried chicken, mashed potatos were good also. When the waitress came next she brought us our check without asking if we wanted dessert. I interjected that we would be needing a dessert menu. She brought one and I ordered a chocolate shake and my Wife ordered a pumpkin pastry. The waitress disappeared and my shake and pumpkin pastry did not arrive. I hailed the manager who apologized for the mistake and comped me the desserts. I still left a big enough tip to cover the desserts. I really wanted good service more than a freebie, but the manager was professional and I appreciate that. During the same times that we were ignored my Wife observed a large table next to us that was given better service by the same waitress. This is the second time I've gotten random service at this location, which is why I took the time to write this review. Food was ok, service was, well, random. Go here with expectation that it's a roll of the dice how your service will be... Not bad, not great... in-between. Two visits here had great service with a...
Read moreI recently visited Corky’s Kitchen & Bakery in Pomona for my graduation this year, and I was thoroughly impressed by the delicious food and extensive menu selection. Compared to IHOP and Denny's, Corky’s offers a broader range of choices, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. From hearty breakfast platters to classic American comfort food, there’s something for everyone.
One of the standout features of Corky’s is the portion sizes. The servings are generous, significantly larger than what you’d typically get at IHOP or Denny’s, and the prices are comparable. This makes it a great value for the money, allowing you to enjoy a filling meal without breaking the bank.
The atmosphere at Corky’s is also a highlight. There’s usually no wait time, making it convenient for those looking for a quick yet satisfying dining experience. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall dining experience. When I found a hair in my eggs, the staff handled the situation with professionalism and efficiency. They promptly replaced my plate without any hassle, ensuring my meal was enjoyable.
Overall, Corky’s Kitchen & Bakery in Pomona delivers on all fronts—delicious food, a wide selection, great value, and excellent customer service. It’s a fantastic alternative to the usual chain diners and a place I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a hearty meal in a welcoming...
