Pho Trin in Pomona has officially become one of our go-to spotsâthis was our second time here, and it just keeps getting better! My husband ordered the large combination pho with no onions, while I opted for the large pho with rare steak and brisket. Both came with the amazing bonus of free extra noodlesâan awesome deal, especially with prices these days. The broth was rich, flavorful, and served piping hot, transporting us straight to the streets of Vietnam. Itâs everything I imagine an authentic bowl of pho from Nam Dinh province would taste like.
We also couldn't resist ordering the appetizer combination platter, which includes fresh rolls, spring rolls, and rocket shrimp, paired with three tasty dipping sauces. The rocket shrimp was crispy and perfectly cooked, while the spring rolls were incredibly fresh. Itâs the perfect starter to share, and every bite was delicious.
The plate of veggies that came with our pho was as fresh as could beâcrisp bean sprouts, fragrant Thai basil, jalapeĂąos, and lime that added a perfect balance to the rich broth. You can tell everything here is made with care and attention to quality.
One of the things that really stands out about Pho Trin is the family-run, mom-and-pop feel. The owners are so kind and make you feel right at home. The young lady who served us was attentive and made sure our food came out quickly, got us water right away, and checked in multiple times to ensure we were happy. But what truly made our visit memorable was when the chef himself came out to serve usâsuch a personal touch that you just donât get at bigger chain restaurants. As we were leaving, the chef even gifted us a small bag of fried veggies to goâwhat a nice, unexpected gesture that perfectly capped off our meal!
On top of that, they even went out of their way to turn on Tinkerbell for our little one on the TV. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it made the entire dining experience so much more enjoyable for the whole family.
Itâs clear that Pho Trin is a bit of a hidden gem, and they could definitely use a little more foot traffic to bring in new customers. Weâre more than happy to help spread the word because this place deserves to be packed every night. The prices are super reasonable, especially with the free extra noodles, and the portions are generous. The food is always amazing, and the service is warm and welcoming.
We love supporting small local businesses, and Pho Trin is a prime example of why. If youâre looking for authentic pho and a true hole-in-the-wall gem, Pho Trin is the place to be. We will definitely be back and hope to see this place bustling with even more...
Read moreBased on other reviews, we were really excited to try this so we ordered the orange chicken, combo fried rice, shaking beef and and slices steak pho. Unfortunately, the high reviews did not deliver. The orange chicken looked like left over tiny remnant pieces and the fried rice just looked dry. And, it was. The chicken did not deliver that orange flavor. The shaking beef aa only mediocre and some pieces tasted old. I did not taste the pho abut my daughter and wife did not come close to finishing it. Was really counting on this restaurant since it was close to us but this was a one time try. It's more than fair to rate 3 stars but it's really...
Read moreToday I called in a lunch order for me and my boss who is a little special and like all the available meat options in his fried rice. I headed over to pick up the food which was ready in a timely fashion and went back work. As we were eating the food in walks a worker from the restaurant because they forgot to put shrimp in his rice. The dedication to service required to drive over to us to drop it off without us calling really shows the care they provide to their customers. We will...
