Sweet Leaf Tea Lounge — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

Visited the area to go to the Black owned vegan spot, The Rabbit Hole, next door and came to this place while waiting for our food. We were served by Destini and she was absolutely lovely!!! She told us about popular drink flavors and hipped us to the guava flavor that’s not on the menu but can be added to any drink. We trusted her to make us anything she felt would be good for a celebration and what she gave us SMACKED. She also let us try some popping boba that are a great way to make the flavor profile of whatever tea you order even more complex. I stopped by Sweet Leaf and tried the taro milk tea with boba. While the tea itself was flavorful and had a nice, creamy texture, I was a bit disappointed with the boba. It was cold and slightly hard, which didn’t pair well with the chilled tea. For an enhanced experience, I’d suggest the owner consider using warm, freshly-cooked boba with their cold teas—it would really elevate the drink.

On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the store had a nice, relaxed ambiance that made it a pleasant spot to hang out. I’ll probably give it another try in the future, hoping for a more balanced boba-tea...

Our first time ever! Ordered 3 drinks. Mine was Thai tea with boba (my go to) and this is hands down the best I’ve had cause I really liked the taste of the Thai tea, it’s got more flavor than other place’s. 2nd drink, strawberry matcha with oat milk. Great for people who are just getting into matcha as it leans more towards the strawberry flavor, but still has the nutty matcha taste as well. 3rd drink, Crème brûlée milk tea was creamy and smooth as custard.
