We came to this location all the time when it was Papa Nacho, so we were sad when they closed but interested in who might be taking over. Sadly, it’s not as good as it was before. I ordered birria tacos, but after our waiter brought the order back to the kitchen he came back to tell me they didn’t have birria. He brought back a menu and I quickly ordered chilaquiles with beef tips instead. I guess they just don’t have regular beef at all right now, because I was served chilaquiles with ground beef. They were supposed to be about $6 for the margaritas, but when the bill came, mine was $17 because I asked for a "skinny" version. The "house" tequila was $11 per shot.
I had a salad with chicken on it and my wife had a more traditional Mexican dish with chicken, beef, beans and rice.
On top of this, it was DJ/ Karaoke night. It was so loud that and you could not talk to the person sitting next to you at your own table.
All said, we left $103 later as very dissatisfied customers and have no...

We had an amazing dining experience at this Mexican restaurant! The Tacos al Pastor were incredible, with tender, flavorful meat served on fresh, homemade tortillas, the habanero salsa was the perfect blend of heat and flavor, especially with the crispy chips. We also tried the Carne Asada Tacos, and they were absolutely exquisite, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and just delicious. The new dish, Piña Loca, was a true fiesta of flavors, bursting with freshness and creativity. Hands down, the best Mexican food in Newport News. We can’t wait to come...
