Unbelievably frustrating. It's taken a long time but finally Tendy's has won and I will not be coming back. For years their quality control has been sliding, but there are few other options. From bits of pork in vegetarian dishes, to food so salty it was inedible. The last two times I have tried to get lunch from Tendy's I've had to leave with only a $14 cup of egg soup, and now nothing at all.
Last week, I ordered a regular order without soy sauce, due to allergies, over the phone. The food was the wrong color, so I went back in and asked if it was safe for me to eat it. After explaining to the committee that I was concerned there was soy sauce in the dish and needed to know if it was safe to eat. The answer was to take it back without saying it was or wasn't contaminated with an allergen for me. They said if I wanted to order something else, I could buy that. Uh no. I had already spent my lunch budget for the week. At least I could eat the soup.
Today, I decided to give it one last try and went in to make sure they got the order right. Nope. It's Monday... but... no lunch menu because it's a holiday(?) and that exception is not mentioned on the menu. So I tried to order off the regular menu... but... no, I was told that was wrong too, since it's Valentine's Day so the menu is the same but the prices are more expensive, and they were not listed anywhere. At least they said this before I ordered, but how can any business...
Read moreThe single best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, and runner-ups are so far behind that I can't even think of their names. I spent my childhood in Port Angeles, I've seen it's historical sites, I've walked through the beautiful forests, I've experienced the fun local festivals and events, but I still have to put Tendy's at the top of the list of things to do. Visit the park where I had my first kiss? After Tendy's. Take a hike in my favorite trail? Don't wanna do that on an empty stomach, to Tendy's first. Stopping by the area and want to say Hi to some of the people who raised me and made me the man I am today? I'm not a psycho. Obviously, friends and family take priority over a good restaurant, especially when it can be a matter of years since the last time I saw them last. . . although that hello should take place around a booth seat with Chinese food unmatched in quality. Too much to finish, of course, so we can bring some back home like we're smuggling some exotic foreign bird back to the states. You don't have to do to Port Angeles. It's a quaint town, and there's no giant canyon or world-renowned company with it's roots there. However, if it is anywhere on your route, if it is one exit away or good Chinese is worth it's weight in gasoline, make your pilgrimage to...
Read moreProbably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waiter was a bit frustrated with my partner because he ordered an extra side of rice with his chow mein dinner. He was very reluctant, I had to interject and say he just wanted to eat rice plain as a side and not mix them together. Once they served us he gave me the extra side of rice - not sure why at the time but now I kind of realize he was probably trying to avoid a fight with his coworkers. Well soon enough the cooks came out watching us, then begun arguing with the waiters very loudly when they noticed my partner was eating the chow mein and had the side of rice. They all walked out side shouting at each other, the cook begun pushing the waiter looking like it was about to be a full out brawl brawl. My partner had to get up and yell at them to stop, he was about to pay, but they told us the dinner was free. Really unprofessional. We have never had a bad experience like this before there but...
