When first walking in it doesn't seem open from the way it looks on the outside. The porch/patio looks as it hasn't been ever used (stacked furniture). You walk In and see a filthy kitchen with junk shoved in every crevice. The place is ran by a mom and son. The mom cooks while the son serves. We were told to sit anywhere while he was stressing about taking more orders. He was apparently busy with the few people that were in there. Which was about 7 people. He was grabbing cheese with his bare hands and I even witnessed him chuck a jalapeño off a taco before serving it. The health inspector should probably shut this place down I don't know how they are still open with the way they run the place and how disgusting it is. No gloves. No hand washing. Touched everything bare handed, collecting money, taking orders, wiping sweat off, touching food. They should be shut down. Please save your money they also overcharge...
Read moreVery disappointed!!! We came in the "off season" and the place was almost empty except for the table next of us. The waitress was nice enough but service was slow. We came with our three kids. We were served salsa and about five chips in a basket. When we asked if we could have more chips, the waitress nervously looked toward the front (guess at the owner) and whispered that the owner didn't want to give out more than what was in the basket. So we all each had a chip. The service took forever and the food was not that great and the portions were like the chips. The people sitting next to us looked at us with a look like "we know how your feel."
I suggest going to Casa Las Palmas at 4000 East Harbor Light Landing Drive, Port Clinton, OH where the free chips and salsa are plentiful and the good is so darn good....big...
Read moreA Port Clinton staple and always reliably comforting. The owner and her son are always friendly and welcoming and the food, which is classic roadside Tex-Mex, has been delivered consistently for decades. Their beef and chorizo tacos are topped with high quality longhorn colby, which has always been my favorite thing about them, served on grilled corn tortillas and served with their homemade Verde sauce, which can vary in heat depending on the time of year. I'm also a big fan of their Avocado Supreme, which is like a seven layer dip made to order.
