So I’m not a regular Indian cuisine patron, and I normally only eat Indian cuisine when my wife craves it – she introduced me to the cuisine along time ago. As a longtime former resident of Los Angeles, and having lived in different parts of the US and the world, Indian food can be found almost everywhere. The best places I can remember were in Los Angeles and Virginia-until now. This place was recommended to us from a produce vendor in the local area, and after his description of how the food was, we decided to try it out. I think I was more excited about it than my wife, who is normally excited about Indian food, but, in this case, I think I was the excited one-maybe because I was just downright hungry, lol. Finding the place was very easy and was surprised it was in its own stand-alone location. The menu seemed very comprehensive and contained many popular items but, we were told to order the butter chicken and the garlic naan. My wife and I like Chicken tikka masala so we opted to try that instead as well as the paneer and added rice because-I love rice. They offered options for spiciness but we settled in the middle as I’m not really into spicy Indian food. The dishes were served in a small pot-like container; the naan in a basket and rice in a bowl. The aroma of the food was so enchanting and I think my mouth was watering as the smell and sight of the food. Although the servings looked small, it was enough to feed both of us and still have leftovers. Taking that first few bites and I was instantly impressed and I think my eyes rolled to the back of my head (I’m kidding-it was that good). The naan was so soft and warm, I swear it must’ve came out of the oven. It definitely complemented the meal-if you don’t order naan, you’re insane. Pictures are worth 1000 words so I managed to take a few. Bottom line-IF I EVER CRAVE INDIAN FOOD or if my wife wants it, I WILL be coming here-it’s...
Read moreAn absolutely fantastic experience. Worth a trip to Port Orchard from anywhere in the Sound, for sure! I've been lucky enough to experience a large number of Indian restaurants of various quality, both southern and northern, and for northern style Indian cuisine, I can't recommend Royal Tandoor enough. It has dethroned my previous favorite of Kinishka in Redmond. The samosa were bright and aromatic, extremely flavorful in both dough and filling. The curries we got were all well spiced and balanced. I ordered an 8 on a scale of 10 and while it didn't bring much heat, what it brought was an intense spice flavor. I much prefer that over the opposite, where a place will just add cap or red pepper to a dish to knock it up without adding any additional depth. This was just perfectly infused. The lassi were incredible as well. Fresh mango (if it's a mix, I'd be floored), again a bright flavor compared to most I've had. It was less intense, with no excess citric acid added, but the flavor was outstanding. They also serve Ras malai, which I'd never tried. It's a fragrant milky rosewater dish with a soft pack cheese curd dumpling floated in it and it is one of the most unique and memorable experiences I've had with a new flavor. Cardamom and maybe a little pistachio undertone, or I'm bringing the association in due to the rose water and baklava, but I swear it was in there. The whole desert was complex and wonderful. An absolutely fantastic dining experience. In addition to the food, the staff was amazing! Very attentive and warm, speaking to guests and on point...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Royal Tandoor and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in warm hospitality and the tantalizing aroma of authentic Indian spices.
The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and traditional charm, with soft lighting, intricate decor, and gentle Indian music playing in the background. It feels like being transported to the heart of India.
Now, the food—absolutely divine! Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and presented with care. I highly recommend the butter chicken—creamy, rich, and perfectly spiced. The paneer tikka masala melted in my mouth, and the garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chilly chicken was perfectly tender meat.
What truly set this place apart was the attention to detail. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, guiding me through the menu and even recommending dishes to suit my preferences. Their passion for Indian cuisine shined through in every interaction.
To top it off, the desserts were a showstopper. The gulab jamun was warm and syrupy, and the mango lassi was the perfect refreshing finish to an outstanding meal.
Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Indian food or trying it for the first time, Royal Tandoor is a must-visit. I left with a full heart (and stomach), already planning my return visit. This is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. Highly...
