My in-laws eat here all the time. My husband and I bring the kids occasionally. My husband and I often eat in the bar. I attempted to call multiple times Friday February 28th, to see if they could accommodate us, but they never answered the phone. On 3/2/25 my family and I went to the slipper to celebrate my late grandfather's birthday with my 94 year old grandmother. I walked in around 10:20 am. I was not greeted, I stood at the front counter and I was ignored twice by the lady working the dining area. There were 3 tables occupied and one table was leaving. I asked her if she could accommodate 12 people, seeing that the dining room wasn't full nor was the bar. She immediately rolled her eyes and said no as she slammed the menus on the counter. I told her we didn't need to combine tables, we could sit at different tables in the same area. She then got frustrated and told me to wait. I was willing to wait and I was very patient and understood if they couldn't accommodate my family. We ended up sitting at 3 separate tables, so if we weren't together she would have had the same amount of occupants as if she were serving different parties separately. When we got our orders taken about 45 minutes after our entire party arrived, she was very abrupt and rude. She was not friendly whatsoever. Our order wasn't put in the window right away and they began to work all the to-go orders as priorities and then the guests around us. We didn't receive our food until after 12 pm. My nephews order was incorrect but we didn't want to make a fuss so we didn't tell them. Another server had to come around and refill our drinks and ask us occasionally how everything was. Our main server, Danielle, did not come around until she brought out checks. Even then, she was very unpleasant and unprofessional. In the end, I did leave a tip, but some others did not because her attitude, demeanor, and service were unacceptable. We didn't end up leaving until closer to 1 pm. My family and I will not be...
Read moreI heard a lot of great things about this place. We went there for breakfast fur my brother-in-law's birthday. Sorry I didn't take pics this time.
The waitress was clearly feeling rushed and not thrilled to be there. Never one smile from her. My teenager was trying to ask if the pancakes in the meal could be upgraded to whatever the special flavor was they had. So.ething apple and or cinnamon. She didn't even wait to hear the full question. Her reply, "pancakes, waffle, fresnch toast." My sun tried to finish the question and she simply repeated the same thing. He thought he said pancakes and ended to with a waffle. Not a huge deal, he likes both.
My dad got the home fries as his potato choice. They were very over-cooked, dark brown!
I got the eggs Benedict. The yolk was well done instead of runny. That's part of the flavor combination that goes away if overcooked. And after eating half of the plate, I found a large chunk of eggshell hanging out with my food. Larger than the size of a quarter and still had raw white on it.
We had 11 people. Another table offered to move so we could all sit together. All of the customers were great! The food did come out pretty quick too.
In the end, my dad asked for a box - the chickens will probably still eat those potatoes. She offered a box to my niece at that time too, she was right next to me. Saw my plate still had food, and she didn't ask if I needed a box. My utensils were down, and at other restaurants they ask at this point. She started walking away and I raised my hand and tried asking for a small box and she didn't see my movement or hear me.
She did keep the coffee poured and creamer on the ready. So there's that at least.
The food was alright, but nothing special. I don't think I'll go back. I can go elsewhere to get not-so-special food - but with a smile and better attitude. AND probably without the...
Read moreThe Bethel Square Restaurant (now Ruby Slipper) used to be very good. The last time I was there in 2021 it was okay but yesterday it was absolutely horrible and one of the worst meals I’ve ever been served at a restaurant. Sorry guys but… The garlic bread stunk so bad I could barely take a bite out of it. I finally got the courage up and tried a tiny bite and it tasted as bad as it smelled. I had to spit it out. Seriously, how can something as simple as garlic bread get so messed up?! It smelled and tasted like a rotten mushroom had stepped on it! Then the “Irish Stew” looked as if it had animal parts in it that I would never eat, floating in grease. The taste wasn’t much better and made me think I should stay away… too much mystery meat for me. And finally the salad… looked like they grabbed the 1 slice of “on the fresher side” cucumber that was left, mushy tomato, and ‘stay fresh’ soaked wilted brown lettuce and threw it on a plate. Needless to say, the side of ranch dressing was the best part of the meal. And this was at dinner time. I would rather not leave a review such as this but I think the owner has a right to know and would probably like to know. I’m pretty sure that Shari wouldn’t approve of the meal I received. Unfortunately, we won’t be back...
