Hungry Howie's is a chain pizza restaurant with the best location available on the Gulf of Mexico. Located at the Intersection of US Highway 98 and Charles Costin Boulevard Boulevard, in the beautiful town in Port St Joe, Florida. Hungry Howie's is the closest restaurant to the Port St Joe boat ramp. Make sure you look for the beautiful underwater mural painted on the building to the right of Hungary Howie's. You can grab dinner and enjoy a picnic at the park to the left. There is a pirate ship playground, bench swings hanging from oak trees, a pond, and a gazebo over the water. Amazing views of the St Joseph Bay, the Lighthouse, wildlife, and the Gulf of Mexico sunset. Grab a hot pizza before or after a boat ride in the calm waters of St Joseph Bay. On the opposite corners are the famous Port Inn and Port Inn Cottages. The food is exactly what you expect from Hungry Howie's. Hot, affordable, and a family favorite the kids and adults love. The differences to look for are the Southern hospitality, great location, and walkable to all of downtown Port St Joe. A day of fun in the sun makes for tired and hungry people. It's easy to please everyone with a quick...
Read moreHad two bad experiences with this place while taking our family on vacation to the area.
Bad experience 1: Ordered pizza online on our first day as we were tired from the drive and wanted something quick/easy. Was given an ETA of around 1 hr but it ended up taking 2-3 hours... with over an hour of that being us in the store waiting as we arrived when it said our order would be ready. Pizza ended up being decent though hence why I'm not giving this one star.
Bad experience 2: Pretty much the same scenario as above except that we tried ordering subs online another night and were yet again given a short ETA. This time we didn't get anything as it was the same story once we got on-site and we didn't feel like waiting around again. We also had to go back in the next day to have the manager initiate a refund. He was a nice guy overall and said the online timing issue is due to his staff not updating it from the store.
Overall it could be a great spot for quick and easy pizza in this area but they obviously are having issues from the staffing side... so I would advise to stay away until they get that...

We got a large pepperoni and two 10” oven baked subs - one Italian and the other deluxe. Oh and don’t forget they have a free flavor your crust offer. We just went with garlic but they have several options to choose from.
The pizza was good although there was a lot of grease because of the cupped pepperoni. We blotted it off with paper towels.
The baked subs were a hit for us. They were literally stuffed and big enough to feed 2 or more people. The lettuce and tomato is optional and if you get it the put on side in a bowl.
I would say we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and would for sure go again when we are...
